The BEST Bird Place to seek out Your Winged companion that I have Ever been to..... Just this past year I found Brendas Birds as I was visiting The Girl's Farm , a few doors away from Brenda's Shop. I was soo pleased to view all the gorgeous species of hand fed, well taken care of, Clean enviorment that the owner and staff take Great Pride in. The Owners have been in this location for Many years, dedicated to their Lives of Birds, and it is evident. These past two weeks my beloved Conures were boarded due to a family emergency. My one older Conure needed to go to the Vet for a change in diet as he is getting older, and an antibiotic. Tammy, the gentle, Groomer at Brendas Birds has been grooming my Winged ones for a year and always takes great care with them. She was quick to show me that my Conure was in need of a check up with their recommended Aviary Vet. For two weeks , Trisha, shop manager offered to give the medication and new foods to my Wyatt while I had to tend to my family. These people are Dedicated. They are Not all about Sales .... many of the birds are out of enclosures during the day , loving encounters with visitors! They are knowledgeable in Bird Species and rather then just " purchase Any Bird, they Ask You what type of beautiful bird your interested in and then fly you in the right direction to find YOU the Bird just Perfect for YOU! Ahhh, but be aware..... Birds are such loving, gentle companions-- You may want more then One!!! Selection of foods and toys and enclosures- many-- even handmade aviaries are available. Now, on a different note: I must add this serious addition: Do Not invest in a Bird if you do not have the Time, the best interest for your new companion creature. And for those of YOU that were compelled to write nasty, untrue reviews of Brenda's Birds as of lately- Shame On YOU. Any Reasonable person well Knows that a small bussiness Relies on their customer reviews in our society of instant technology today. A bussiness can have a million "excellent" reviews and then some Nasty, selfish, person can drag down ALL the Good with just one bad review to crush all others. Recently, one such customer has written such a mean spirited Wrong sided review that it has adversely effected the Usual flow of people into Brendas Birds😞 This person waited 9 months to even contact Brendas Birds to communicate a problem? Now this person has harassed the Owner, the Staff, even Wildlife Society- even local law enforcement- What the ??? Please stand with Us at Brendas Birds... Do Not allow this one, the very few that have written a poor review. This Staff is open hearted to help find Any and All solutions, even when, as anything in life may need to be redirected to bring resolution for both patron and Owner. Come fly with Us.... Brendas is full of love for its Winged ones.. And to the woman that continues to harasss this shop- STOP👣 We Stand With Brendas Birds and Will Not Allow You, or anyone to shadow our Patronage. I expect to speak with YOU very soon as to reconciliation in this matter. Thanks Everyone ! See You at Brendas...
Read moreHow about that new incredible groomer they have on Saterdays? This woman knows her stuff let me tell you! Where has she been all my birds life? This maybe a bit long, but I have to share. I have an old parrot with a liver condition which causes his beak to get overgrown and grows in every direction, his nails grow the same way. Wherever I would bring him, they would never trim the beak & nails back far enough and he needed to be groomed again in a matter of a few weeks. I started going to avian vets, and half of them wouldn't even attempt to correct his beak! (it was as if they really didn't know what they were doing and were afraid to do it) AND they charged me over $60.00 to TOUCH his beak! So one day I stopped into Brendas to pick up food and there is a New girl Tammy grooming a macaw. I tell her about my birds condition and how I can't find anyone who can help him,( maybe I have to accept the fact he can't be helped? ) Her eyes light up, and says "I may be able to help him, Beaks are my speciality! Why don't you bring him in?" I figured "what have I got to lose, and I'd only be spending 18.00 for the full grooming." I brought him in the following Saterday and she says confidently "oh yes, I can do something with this beak". Now my bird does NOT LIKE TO GET GROOMED. And acts as if his being killed when someone comes at him with a towel. Tammy sets him on the floor and I hear her talking softly to him and all the sudden comes up with him. I'm like WHAT!? No screaming or fighting? If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I would have said she knocked my bird out with gas to get him in that towel. Long story short and 10 minutes later, my bird for the first time in years, looked NORMAL! His nails were a comfortable length, his beak looked incredible, and she explained that if I bring him in every few months, she can continue to work on correcting his bite. That his beak was severely overgrown and there are nerves. but now that he'll be able to use his beak, and as he chews on his perches and toys, those nerves will move back, and she'll be able to correct it further. She not only knows a lot about grooming, she knows a lot about everything bird, and when talking with her, I can tell her knowledge comes from experience. She is a wealth of knowledge and I hope they pay her well to...
Read moreI purchased yesterday a lovebird. A very cute little bird which was handfed. It appeared very friendly. Maybe too friendly, a little on the lethargic side. I asked two of the employees if the bird was maybe sick. I got 3 "no" answers accompanied by a sarcastic smile every time. I felt somewhat bad, as they seem to say "this is just a very friendly handfed bird, not sick, silly!". I believed the "professionals". I paid the $120 + tax and left. I got home, got the little bird out of the box and put it on my counter. It was walking with a slight limp on the right. I picked it up and started to check it thoroughly. Quickly I found out the right wing was broken. I felt very bad for the little fellow, but I wasn't gonna keep a brand new bird with a broken wing for that money. I took it back to the store. As expected, I was blamed for the broken wing, and given a nasty attitude by what seems to have been the owner, who was called by an employee from home, probably. I handle these little birds extremely carefully, as I know they are very fragile. Unlike that store's employees which rough them up. I spent there hours looking at the birds and interacting with them, on several occasions. I was always surprised how roughly they handle the birds, And I thought that maybe I was exaggerating handling them so carefully. Now it figures. Needless to say, they refused to offer a refund or to subtract the price from the price of a new bird I was willing to buy. They only offered $25 discount. That was insulting. I left, without the paid for bird, and will never return. I will open a dispute with the credit card to recover my money from these dishonest people.
Reply to owner: lady, you are speaking from imagination, and are an outright liar. You were not even there when I bought the bird. I looked through your reviews, and it looks like I'm not the only one who believes the birds in your store are being mistreated. We'll see what the authorities will say when they will come to inspect your store. That's a place for animal abuse. You claim to be a bird lover, but the place speaks for itself. I think you're rather a...
