I have given this location multiple chances, and Iāve been let down every, single , time.
Here are some examples of the extremely poor customer service and bad attitude Iāve experienced while both shopping and selling items.
never greeted, whether Iām the 10th or only person in the entire store tried to return (for store credit) a dress Iād bought the day before and was told I could not (it was not on clearance, the reason was something about me using partial store credit in my entire purchase.. because I had bought more than the dress) hearing the ābuyersā make fun of, quite loudly, the clothes that they were sorting through to potentially buy waking in on a Sunday afternoon and being told that there was a 2 bag limit and no trash bags allowed ( Iāve alwayyyyysssss used and seen / STILL SEE trash bags used) on weekends and then today, walked in with TWO bags (because itās a Friday) and after waiting 5 mins to check in (after someone who literally brought in a moving box of clothes) was told āoh weāre only taking 1 bag per person todayā I said ok, checked in and then was told that theyāre would call me by 7 pmā¦I asked if waiting in the store would speed up the process (AS NORMAL) and the girl said no, because they were still behind from the day before rolling her eyes.. so I obliged, leaving the store. Naively, I ran the rest of the errands(very slowly) thinking surely they would be done within 3 hours (from my assessment of all the bags in front of me(Iāve seen more bags take less time)) because it was not until 4.5 hours later I got a call that my buy was finally complete. I was given how much they would offer for the amount of clothes they pick take- I accepted verbally over the phone. When I went to pick up my unwanted items, it was clear that they took more items than they stated over the phone as my bag was almost empty - at this time, my husband and screaming baby (past his bedtime but only with us so we could make the cut off time Uptown gave ) waiting in the car, I didnāt have the energy to say anything so grabbed my āunwantedā items and walked out .
I would also like to add that DENTON uptown cheapskate location is the specific location I am referring to - Iāve always enjoyed my visits to the other north Texas locations, and was super excited when they opened the one in Denton (finally in my town) a few years ago - but after today , I have finally given up hope that they will change/ be better/ smile or at least have a positive tone in your voice!!!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot sure what star rating I would like to give this place, but I do wish I would have read the reviews further to see some true feedback. A lot of these reviews seem fake especially the ones that have no actual review left. My experience was like many others that have brought in tons of very nice, name brand clothes that were passed on. I brought in so many nice things that had tags or had never been worn, some slightly worn. Iāve had two babies back to back so I canāt fit my clothes now, I was really hoping to sell these and buy more from this place⦠instead they offered me $7.50 store credit or $6 cash for two items out of the tons I brought in. Not only did I think that was silly, the lady who greeted me at the sell counter was so rude. She never said hello or welcome in. She ran through what she had to say about selling for the first time and never once smiled, she literally talked through her frown. I should have known then that it wasnāt going to be a pleasant experience. They rushed through all the clothes I brought in within 5 mins. I was looking around and had seen a few things I liked before going to the counter to be told the ridiculous offer which I accepted store credit for because it was more. I found a really cute jacket that honestly smells so heavy and strong of some type of fragrance even after washing that I wish I wouldnāt have bought it. Overall, this place may be worth it to some but I donāt think Iāll be returning. Not that it matters to a business like this whether they have my business or not, but beware if you have nice clothes you want to sell you might as well post them on Facebook marketplace or have a yard sale! And if you decide to shop, be prepared for the clothes to smell insanely strong of fragrance while purchasing from someone at the counter that has no interest in working their job so they canāt smile or say...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat selection of items and reasonably priced on some of them. I feel the brands and sizing are inclusive and I do feel that some of the items are priced fairly. I would like to mention a few things. Fee People is a premium brand as well as a popular brand but some of the items on the Free People rack showed much more wear and tear but the price did not reflect such. These items had a Free People label but we're priced without taking the condition of the item into consideration. Therefore, you're likely to overpay for an item with a brand label that shows more wear than the price would lead you to believe. So I think that they price items according to brand without taking the condition of the item into consideration. I feel like they're selection is fantastic none the less .The associates are really friendly and they are very busy here! I definitely wouldn't be selling clothes there a second time, I feel like they didn't really pay what the condition and brand of my items would dictate but no worries, no harm, no foul. I don't have to sell to them in the future but Uptown Cheapskate definitely has me as a...
