Long post!! Good day, I booked the 1/2 day tour about a several days before arriving to Denver. I kept checking to see if the number of attendees had changed and then the day before, I decided to call. I ended up sending an email and had also called back. When I checked the email response, the person mentioned that the phone # I had left was disconnected. I am not sure what happened there, but even if that was the case, my # was on my online registration. The trip was due to cancel because they didn't have enough people, but by the end of Monday, they had the 3 they needed to run it. That was communicated to me via text, which was great. Now, on the day of the tour, we were told to wait by the flagpole, it was extremely cold. I waited a few minutes, but as I was heading back into the building, I called the office contact and was told that an email was sent to meet inside. I never received that, but with only 3 people, why would you not at least text the riders to be sure they are aware. Alex was our guide, and it was supposed to be 5 hours according to the site. Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly. We did the Red Rocks, Echo Lake and Idaho Springs since he said that he was not comfortable driving to Evergreen with how the roads may possibly be. The main roads were fairly clear, but for Echo Lake the ride up was work and not yet cleared, but he made it. We appreciated that. So, with us going to Idaho Springs instead of Evergreen, we were first only given 30 mins. But by the time we went to one store and to the ladies' room, our time was up! We asked for more time, which we agreed on 15 more mins. That was also fine. I did ask when we would be returning to Union Station and he said between 1:15-1:30. Well, we got back before 12:30. Another one of the ladies also agreed that she felt that we could have had more time somewhere or that another spot should have been added, even locally. Again, it states 5 hours, but when you add up the timeline they provide, it is only 4 and this is why I asked what time we were getting back. I cannot say I did not enjoy the experience and history he shared, but I felt like it would be more worth $60 at most for 4 or 5...
Read moreI will preface this review by saying no other company has been as helpful as Colorado Sightseer. You can count on them delivering because of their locality to the area. Our meeting spot was set around the same time as another company, and no one from that company made it clear which tour group OR COMPANY we would be going with. I had to take authority to organize FOR THEM as a tourist… lol. What could have been simplified by a sign of some kind was instead a disorganized and confusing mess to navigate. Because of this, there is no way in my mind that the other companies could compare to our experience as a whole! Our tour guide, Alex, was just what we needed to get us excited for our trip so early in the morning! He arrived on time and made sure we were all where we needed to be! Although having a quiet group, he managed to still maintain professionalism while ensuring all of us had a fun time. We loved our time in Rocky Mountain National Park. Despite some areas being closed due to snow and ice (which is crazy for some of us Easterners to fathom), Alex ensured we would still get the most out of our trip and even took the scenic route on the way back into town! When we come back, we will be sure to book through this local company. Much love to you all both on the frontlines and behind the scenes for making every moment special. This tour took all of the stress out of exploring outside of Denver! Thank you for sharing the beauty of...
Read moreI booked the full day tour hoping that it would be a great way to show my husband the Rocky Mountains without renting a car (and without having to drive!) and it absolutely was everything I wanted and more! The route and the stops we took along the route were better than anything I could have planned. Each stop broke up the drive perfectly and we got to stay at each location for what felt like JUST the right amount of time- Our guide Will did a great job of giving us enough time to really soak everything in without staying too long/itching to move on. I did NOT expect to be able to see a moose on this trip or to be able to find and eat wild huckleberries- two things we would have never been able to do without Will’s help. Some of the things I was nervous about embarking on a 10 hour trip were motion sickness, bathroom stops, and comfortable temperature in the van… all things that were not a problem at all. (I sat in the front of the van and did take Dramamine, but Will drove the precise speed limit the entire way through the park, making for a very, very comfortable ride. He also asked for feedback about van temperature several times and there were MANY bathroom stops along the way). My only recommendation is to bring snacks! The guide does provide snacks and lunch, but I found myself munching all along the route (but maybe that’s just me!)...
