In the photos, everything looks okay when you first arrive, it seems like a nice place too. However it sucks, we arrived at night around 10:30pm and found the lobby locked, We had a reservation and we had also had in our reservation that we would be arriving between 10 30 11 o'clock at night. After the concert in denver, well, like I said, the door was locked, so we banged down. The door push the doorbell button multiple times trying to figure out what the hell was going on called several times never got an answer, about ten minutes, someone came to the door and unlocked it, and let us in, They were not wearing a uniform, they were wearing pajamas. And it was plain to tell that this person had just crawled out of bed. We finished our paperwork. I was given the key to our room. Our room was on the second floor. This property has NO ELEVATORS, so We eventually found the stairway and took our things upstairs. Note this wouldn't have been so bad. Except the stairway was dark, the lighting did not work. We found the room, now You have to understand all of the room doors face outside. There are no hallways, just outside ledges. Around the building, I know that this was very common in the 70s, so I figured this building was at least built 45 years ago, We unlocked the door to our room and walk inside, The room appeared to be fine. The furniture was all in good shape. Nothing appeared to be excessively wore out, and it seemed to be clean, Then I went into the bathroom, it was a pig sty. Crusty dirt in all the corners shower was disgusting. It was obvious that the counter was very old with cigarette burns on it and every other imaginable kind of crude and a bug in the shower, The beds were shot , Very thin mattresses and felt like sleeping in a hammock. But it was late, and we didn't want to try to get their staff back out of bed to get us a different room. So we prepared for bed. I turned on the TV to find out that it was a mess. It had bad reception snowy channels. We did manage to find one channel that came in halfway decent, Comedy central. also It was a small t v, perhaps a thirty two inch, That's when I said, okay, let's just get some sleep, so We shut off the lights only to discover that there was no rubber on the bottom of the doors and light was coming in from the parking lot under the closed door and that's why there was a beetle in the bathroom. So we wet a Towel rolled it up and shoved it along the bottom of the door to keep any more intruders out of the room while we tried to sleep... Conclusion, none of us would ever stay here again. The place is a dump. Yes, it is cheap and it was quiet,...
Read moreWell so I have to remove one of the very few good reviews hometown studios had as a loyal customer. I rented a room from them for about 3/4 of a year last year just me and my cat And they had no problem with after Gabby left. Then over the winter I went to a different hotel as I found a cheaper monthly rate. And when that ended this year and the warmer weather kicked back in I tried to go back there and I was there for a month and of course you have to do the 28-day thing which means after you're there for 28 days You have to leave for 48 hours and then you can come back. So I did and went to the one out by the airport. After a couple days I bought a week through Priceline like I always do and with the last of my money ubered from the airport location back to Glendale. And when I walked in right away my kind of stomach dropped Gabby was back here now and it just seems like negativity follows her around like she looks at customers and tries to find a way to deny them a room like that's how she works not thinking that hey this place has ton of extra rooms and I need to try and rent out as much as possible to make the company money no she thinks the opposite Let me weed out everybody I can who knows maybe so it's less room she has to deal with anyway when I got back there and having already paid your Priceline she then informs me I can't come back because I left the room dirty last time I said what do you mean no I didn't it was not dirty I mean it might have been a little dirty but I don't live in filth and she Said there was cat here all over and I said there might have been some but you know I have a cat I apologize I said I paid for a week on through Priceline already and she's like well I'm sorry you're going to have to deal with them You can't come here with the cat. And then I remember I said you know the room might have been a little dirty because you guys never once came to ask or change my sheets or do anything not a thing. Which I wouldn't have even brought up except for the fact that she's denying me now maybe if you cleaned it it wouldnt have been dirty. So for hometown suites if I'm looking at the amount of rejections that follow around where Gabby is sent cuz she is sent to other locations as well which was great in Glendale because that's when things were good and of course I happen to come there the day she's back but I will bet you'll see your occupancies of rooms go down the time that she is working that hotel That's not customer service that's I mean she doesn't need to be the one deciding anything give her a broom and a mop and a push cart and say go...
Read moreI booked a room for a week here and am just wrapping up my stay.
The rooms are much smaller than the stock photos they display. This is the smallest motel/hotel room I've ever stayed in, out of 100+ hotels I've stayed at over the years. I couldn't believe how different the rooms were than the pictures. A typical, non-extended stay hotel room is easily over twice the size of these rooms. The room smelled okay the first day, but every day after there a very strong smoke smell that was impossible to get rid of. It smelled horrible.
As other reviews have said, there are bedbugs. I was itchy and bitten every night. The bed is tiny. It's a single bed. The blanket was thin, dirty, old, and had holes in it. The actual bed and pillows were cheap and uncomfortable.
You can hear every conversation from adjacent rooms and the doors slamming sounds like it's inches from you (well, it is very close, as the rooms are tiny).
When I was coming back one time, there was a homeless man outside and the woman behind me let him inside the key-card access doors that lead to the elevator. The homeless man followed me into the elevator to my floor (3rd) and was talking to himself the entire time. He got off and was just wandering around. I also saw 2 shopping carts randomly on the 3rd floor. One night, someone was banging on a door near mine yelling and pleading for someone named "Bill". An old man in the door next to mine was on the walkway one time in just a shirt and underwear, looking over the walkway balcony in broad daylight.
Toward the end of my stay, I went to the office and spoke to Nia to find out how much it would cost for additional nights, out of curiosity. I came back, no less than a half hour later, to ask for change to use the laundry room. Nia said "It's key-card access and for guests only". I said I had a room and she didn't believe me and asked for my room number. This is right after having a conversation with her about my stay. Finally, she gave me change for the laundry.
I saw a monthly rate of 950 online, but the hotel won't honor it. The lowest they will do is a little under $1300 for month. It isn't worth half that much.
The wifi doesn't connect over half the time and is slow. Ironically, Brakes Plus, adjacent to it (from which you can hear drilling and banging) has better wifi, and I found myself having to use that signal often.
Overall, this is basically a dingy, dirty, smelly, motel/hotel, filled with shady people, that just so happens to have a small stove...
