If you are going to consign here, be prepared to tip-toe around the moody staff's feelings. I've never dealt with a more unpleasant or unhelpful employee in my life. I used to love this place and I support what they do- but my experience today completely changed my mind. I will not be going back. Because I had over 30 items, I booked two appointments to consign with them. I dropped my bag off and waited patiently only to notice that the woman at the desk wasn't going through my items at all (and didn't bother to tell me she'd stopped looking). I approached the counter to ask what the status was, and instead of being even remotely helpful or friendly, she was incredibly rude and told me that because she encountered two "pieces of underwear" in my bag, she had to stop going through it. That was the only explanation she initially offered, and naturally I was pretty confused. I had a couple bralette-type tops and one pair of never-worn panties (with the tags on!), and I figured, if they don't take items like this, they could just donate for me. So I inquired, "What do you mean you have to stop going through it? Can I just remove the items you don't want so that you can continue?" to which she snapped back, that for "sanitation" reasons, they could not go through the rest of my items. First of all, had I known that they literally wouldn't even touch anything that could be considered an undergarment, I wouldn't have brought them in. But, it's very obvious that they have never been worn (take it from me, I'm not the kind of person who try to sell used underwear) and still had tags on. Second, I wouldn't have been upset if the woman would have simply explained their store policy or put any effort at all into helping me understand why she could no longer go through the items. We could have worked together to determine a solution; they could have honored my entire appointment time and looked through the rest of my items (none of which were "underwear", but apparently she didn't believe me.) Instead, she gave me 30 seconds instead of the 30 minutes I booked, treated me like garbage and essentially shoo'ed me out of the store. I guess the loss is on Common Threads, though, because I had several name-brand, seasonally appropriate pieces in perfect condition that we could have mutually profited from. I'll be taking my items elsewhere from now on and will not support a business that treats customers so distastefully....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was consignment shopping for the day. Went to Mercer Placeā¦amazing store and lovely staff. What a pleasant experience. Iām feeling good! I stop at Common Threads. I walk in immediately and see a pair of FP Combat boots I ordered online. I ask about sizing and was basically ignored. They were $146 used. I bought new w tax and shipping for $106ā¦.hmmm ok thatās fine. Iām looking around and am nearly knocked over by staff hanging clothes and barreling around. Wait, shouldnāt you make customers feel welcome? Itās about service. What a joke. Every woman in the store that I encountered was angry. If you donāt like your job do something else. So disappointing and whoever responds to the reviewsā¦stop making excuses and basically blaming customers. Take accountability and look in the mirror. I called on surgeons for 27 yrs and although it was sales and commission it was all about SERVICE. Patronsā¦save your $$$ but more importantly feel good and surround yourself with helpful/feel good people. Go to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I could give 0 stars. Their website states that you have to have your clothes hung and ironed and I spent a lot of time preparing everything to look as good as possible. I brought in 2 bags and 10 items on hangers, all Free People, Rag and Bone, Paige, BP, Limited, etc. Nice brands and half the items still had their tags on and have never been worn. After only 7 or 8 minutes the woman found me and said they were not taking anything of mine. I was very shocked and called out a few items in particular and she said no because they donāt take ābig boxā brands, even though there are full sections of the store dedicated to Free People, various Nordstrom brands, Burberry clothing was scattered throughout, etc. I asked specifically about a Free People sweater and she said āO I didnāt see thatā which makes me think she didnāt give any of my items a real look. This was a terrible experience and I will...
