Honestly. Not terrible but not fantastic either. I moved in when Heller was still working here and she was the only leasing agent I have seen go out of their way to get to know the residents here. She was fantastic. Miss her.
Couple of things. Bikes. The moment I saw the bike storage, I knew I could not lock up my bike. SO! My bike has been in my 540 sq.ft. apartment because this bike storage has old bikes with so much dust on them from previous residences that have been picked through and stolen.
Next. The AC/Heat unit. At first it was decent. Didnt think much of it. Worked wonderfully during the winter. Then came March and It was getting rather warm in my apartment. Tried to get it to cool down with the AC Unit and it got to be 80* in my apartment. Frantically called maintenance, and they told me "Oh did no one tell you? Its seasonal AC and seasonal heat. Wont kick on till about May." Went through my lease and I did not see one piece on the AC unit being seasonal. Im sorry but seasonal AC DOES NOT WORK in Colorado. It gets too hot in the early months. I luckily had a portable AC unit from maintenance that they never came and got (will be returning when I move out) and that has saved me working from home. The windows are not big enough to open to allow air flow. Not effective for warm Spring months.
Packages. I am sorry but the leasing office needs to make it mandatory to make people come pick up their packages or they will be returned. Amazon guy told us that the parcel pending is full and residents wont pick up their packages. With everyone working from home due to COVID, the number of orders has gone up but people arent picking up their packages. I have had packages been stolen too after UPS dropped them off.
Parking. Till recently I have had no complaints of parking, but there was our first hail storm of 2020 and I drove in to find a random car in my parking spot. They had followed another car after they opened the garage to wait out the storm. Not secure one bit. The garage door is meant for homes. Not constant opening and closing of an apartment complex.
Has decent water pressure. No issues there. Washer and dryers in the basement are decent. BIG shout out to maintenance. They have had to come to my apartment when I am not home and always were welcoming and gentle to my Great Dane as I leave her out. They addressed things in a timely manor. Really appreciate that.
But. Its a place to live. I am not staying though. The location is great, but the place...
Read moreAbsolute Nightmare: Avoid Metropolis Building Under Laramar Management!
Where do I even begin with the disaster that is the Metropolis building managed by Laramar? Let's start with the abysmal management, or should I say mismanagement, that has plagued this place. The transition from Laramar to Cornerstone was an absolute mess, leaving residents feeling unsafe and insecure.
First off, security is a joke here. Packages go missing regularly, and the elevators are a canvas for explicit graffiti, making them downright disgusting. The stench that permeates the building is nauseating, and the lockers on the main door might as well be decorative since they offer zero security for families residing here.
Speaking of security, the number of break-ins I've witnessed during my brief one-year stint here is appalling. It's like living in a crime hotspot rather than a residential building. And don't get me started on the laundry room – it's a breeding ground for filth, with machines that barely function, if at all.
As if the appalling living conditions weren't enough, the rent they demand for this cesspool of incompetence is downright ludicrous. And good luck getting anything fixed in a timely manner. Maintenance requests seem to disappear into a black hole, never to be heard from again.
Oh, and let's not forget the revolving door of management. It's like playing a game of musical chairs, except instead of music, it's the sound of residents' complaints falling on deaf ears. And don't even think about relying on security cameras for peace of mind – they're about as rare as a unicorn around here.
But the cherry on top of this dumpster fire? The audacity to try and charge me for leaving when my lease is up. Despite informing the previous management of my intentions, the new (or should I say, old) Laramar management conveniently blames me for their own incompetence.
Save yourself the headache and heartache – steer clear of the Metropolis building managed by Laramar. It's a living nightmare that no one should have to endure. And with reports of car thefts, bug infestations, and neglected common areas, it's a disaster...
Read moreLived at the Metropolis for about a year and a half. Location is amazing and only getting better with the food options and movie theater almost built. On site parking is great, sometimes full on weekends but never had trouble finding street parking behind the building those days. Clean facilities, gym with the essentials downstairs, on site laundry always had a washer open, and amazon lockers are a great addition. Rooms are very modern, wood floors, and best bang for you buck in the Denver area in my opinion (affordable 1 bedroom for 1 person is unheard of). Maintenance was timely and fixed anything that came up. Finally staff is very friendly and accommodating to any questions you have, they also host some events around town throughout the year which are a fun way to meet neighbors. Overall met or exceeded all expectations and would recommend to anyone looking...
