My party of 5 got seated immediately. When one of my friends took a seat down on the end of the table and the black cushioned seats against the wall were broken… so she fell in. The food came out promptly, and was decent in flavor. The waiter always made sure our glasses were never even close to empty, however he poured water on either us, or our table multiple times. The experience that COMPLETELY ruined this place as a restaurant, and the reason my party of 5 will never return or recommend this place to anyone… is, when we were leaving, I handed the short blonde waitress cash for a tip. When giving her the tip, she lingered and asked for more. I was baffled by her response and said: “I’m sorry?” She then began to say that most people do 10% “so maybe you could give me a little more”. Again, with all of us baffled that she was not grateful for a $15 tip we froze in disbelief and awkward peer pressure. 2 members from my party gave her more ones just to make her go away. But that was just rude and ignorant. I wish I would’ve just taken back the entire tip for her ungrateful-ness. That completely ruined all of our experience with Swing Thai....
Read moreThis came up as a recommendation for a double date and ended up being a nice place to share food together but had some questionable things.
The service was pretty good, menus are in the table and no qr codes which felt nice. The seats were worn down and not comfortable. My butt was hurting by the end but we weren't there for long.
Both couples ordered pad Thai and they came out in under three minutes. First questionable flag. Made me feel the food wasn't fresh and the noodles gave that vibe. A bit dry and stale. We ordered veggie and didn't get any peanuts with a small amount of veggies. Second flag. It was also way too sweet and left me wondering how much sugar they used. I crashed pretty hard after. It was super empty compared to places next door which is my final flag.
Overall one bowl of fast food pad Thai with what felt like low quality ingredients and negative freshness for 20$ has me planning...
Read morePros: they do have gluten free options. We ordered more than once to get a better opinion, and they were fairly fast getting the order ready.
Cons: the flavor is just off. While it technically hits the markers for thai food, I really wouldn't want to pay more than $10 a dish for the quality that you get. The spices are not cohesive and it feels like they're expecting basil to carry everything. The chunks of veggies were super huge and lacked any sort of uniformity, and the portions weren't consistent in the meals we ordered. They also do not give you enough rice, and their additional sides of rice are super tiny for the price.
Both times we ordered I didn't finish my meal, and normally I eat every bite (even if it's leftover). I also ordered mild and it was still very spicy (normally I like spice but I'm pregnant and baby doesn't like it...
