I'm a disabled veteran and went in last night with my service animal. He is clearly identified with vest and markings. He also very clearly behaves accordingly. The male bartender approached me, drunk, and said he doesn't allow service animals. He told me to leave. I was waiting on drinks and told him my dog clearly IS a legit SVC animal and clearly behaves accodingly. He was just trying to pick a fight. The female bartender intervene and tried to deescalate. I showed this guy my disabled Vet ID and DL with my vet stamp. He beligerantly argued with me despite my polite attempts to rationalize with him. Finally, I said he could call the police and let them explain the law to him. The other bartender continued trying to talk sense to to him. She gave me my drinks and as I drank my beer, the drunk bartender stood there, arms folded, and just mad dogged me for 5 minutes before he went back behind the bar where he continued arguing with her. I finished my beer and left the other drinks. You shouldn't let people work your bar if they cant handle thier booze, are ignorant to ADA law AND just ignorant period. It's a shame because I wanted to celebrate my friends birthday but had to leave do to the staff. The young girl who was bartending tried to manage the other bartender and she did her job well. I feel bad that she has to work with...
Read moreBartender seemed to be annoyed by having to serve us and generally disagreeable to my enthusiastic questions about an otherwise really interesting place.
I had heard the food was great but I would not advise it as a culinary destination. We had burgers that were the model of mediocrity. They got our order wrong and were not in a hurry to fix it. This kind of thing happens at every bar or restaurant from time to time, but it was embarrassing as I had convinced my date to go there based on rave reviews of the food and ambience. They had the cheap ketchup instead of the real one, if that says anything.
This is the best part- I was accosted by a smoker on the patio because I was vaping (on the sidewalk) and the smell bothered him. Not sure why I am including this but it didn't bode well as we were hoping for a friendly experience or cool patronage. It was kind of the cherry on top of a frustratingly...
Read moreWow! I'm so annoyed that my first time at this bar was this last Saturday because it's now on my list of favorites and I've been missing out for the past 5 years in Denver. My husband and I went for date night after some Korean BBQ next door. I didn't know what to expect especially since we were not too familiar with this neighborhood. My husband and I got a seat at the bar and ordered some drinks. It's not quite a "dive bar" but it's not uppity and pretentious like some places in and around Denver. They have a touch tunes type box which we love and got to play some songs that another bartender enjoyed as well. The friendly bartender told us about the Owl saloon, too which wer are definitely going to try as it's less than a mile from our home . It seemed like it might have been a local favorite hangout and quite honestly reminded us of "home" in the South. Thanks for a...
