My experience at Upscale Nails Denver was absolutely dreadful, warranting a one-star rating. Right from the moment we stepped foot into the salon, an unsettling atmosphere hung in the air. Despite our initial reservations, we decided to proceed, hoping for a positive outcome. Little did we know that our decision would expose us to an abhorrent display of unprofessionalism and utter disrespect.
During my friend's pedicure, the supposed nail technician shockingly began applying the polish directly onto her skin. Politely, my friend pointed out that this was not the correct procedure. However, instead of acknowledging their mistake, chaos erupted. It seemed as though the entire staff turned against us, exacerbating an already distressing situation.
In an alarming turn of events, a group of four Asian individuals suddenly swarmed my friend, subjecting her to a barrage of berating remarks and baseless accusations, insinuating that she was deliberately seeking trouble. This response not only demonstrated a profound lack of professionalism but also showcased deeply troubling racist undertones. Discrimination should never be tolerated, irrespective of one's race or background.
To compound matters, my friend not only endured this horrific treatment but was also forced to pay an exorbitant $45 for a service that fell far below acceptable standards. It is truly outrageous to demand such a hefty sum for a job that was executed with such incompetence and a blatant disregard for professionalism. It is painfully evident that Upscale Nails places profit above customer satisfaction and basic human decency.
In light of this terrifying experience, I implore everyone to avoid this establishment at all costs. The staff's incompetence, disrespect, and racial discrimination combine to create an environment that is nothing short of horrifying. Save your hard-earned money and seek out an alternative salon where you will be treated with the dignity, respect, and professionalism that you...
Read moreThis is an updated review. Your salon treated me so poorly I went to cosmetology school (and just graduated) so I never have to be treated as low as your staff did.
I'll recap what happened.
I walked in and very nicely said "I'm so very sorry but I have to leave for work in 70 minutes & a full set takes an hour. Do you have room right now, if not I can come back tomorrow." She agreed and took me to a chair.
With ZERO prep she glued nails onto the tip of my nail then told me to take a seat in the waiting area. I reminded her again "I have to leave in about 65 minutes how long will i be seated?" "Not long"
I sat there out of spite just to see how long it would take.
Mind you I have these super pokey & scratchy nails barely glued onto the end of my nail so I couldn't do anything. Almost poked my eye out a few times bc I touch my face A LOT.
48 minutes later the intake lady"ok were ready for you" I showed her my phone with 22 minutes on the clock. "I have to be ON the 25 in 22 minutes. How can you make that happen" She said "ok sit down & we figure it out" so I played along and sat down in the pedicure areato be bombarded by more disregard for my time.
I paid her $20 to remove the 10 little shards of knives from my nails, (which she had an attitude about) told her to keep the change (bc I'm the type that tips 50%. Always have, always will) and I'll be going to school now.
Salons like yours who do not understand consent & value of customers time is why myself & 2 other students in my graduating class are going to cosmetology school for PERSONAL l. Not business.
Just so we are degraded to a credit card number. I am a human and will be...
Read moreBeen here a couple times, the 1st time was great. Its kinda hit or miss depending on who you get. I typically go in for shellac. They have a wide selection of colors but sometimes they rush you to pick. The last time I went made me not want to return. I had to leqve for a trip the next day and I was in the middle of moving however I set aside some time to get my nails done. I went in and there was only 1 customer in and there were 4 women available. They must have set me up with someone new. I wanted two colors 1 accent nail. The language barrier was so bad she didnt understand what i was saying i kept repeating the #colors I wantwd and another woman had to explain what i wanted. I had kind of a time crunch and was planning on getting in and out. It took over an HOUR!! I have tiny hands and once in a while my lady had to ask the other employees questions as if she messed up. I understand people have to learn but it would have been nice if they asked if I was ok with wasting an hour. During my hour a woman came to get a mani pedi and she had 2 women working on her and she was done before i was. My nails didnt come out bad but not the best. Probably wont be back...
