We went here on a Saturday evening around 7. The restaurant was not busy and there was plenty of staff on hand (4 at the counter + cooks in the back). The restaurant was clean and inviting. The indoor seating is small and there are only 3-4 tables that seat 4 people. The rest are all 2-tops or bar seating. There is a covered patio, but it does not appear to be climate controlled. Most of the orders for this area seemed to be delivery.
We ordered a small Philly Cheesteak Pizza and a small NY pepperoni pizza. We were able to customize our Philly cheesesteak pizza to be Sicilian style. This setup could have easily fed a family of 4 and cost about $35 before proposed add-ons. On this amount, they had a charge labeled "service fee" for about $1.50 and could not explain what it was for very well. The response given by the manager said it was "primarily" for employee health insurance, which seemed to come as a surprise to the employee taking our order. The pre-set tips on the Toast register were 20%, 22%, and 25%, and allowed for customization. They have a points program for which you can sign up.
The pizzas were brought out promptly, about 8 minutes after we ordered, tasted great, and had plenty of toppings. The Sicilian crust sits about 1" high in thickness, tasted great, and is very filling. It may be too much bread for some. The pepperonis on the pizza were juicy enough that the grease pooled within the pepperonis and could be cleared by laying a napkin on it. The green-chili cheesebread looked great and may be worth a try on...
Read moreAfter eating at the Dough Counter, I’m pretty sure I’d be 700lbs if I lived in Denver… as someone who has to eat gluten free, the fact I can get my two favorite foods, pizza and chicken fingers in one spot is rare. A THICK deep dish pizza too? Oh boy.
That gluten free deep dish is the deepest I’ve ever had. It was also more doughy than airy, which is very rare in the gluten free space. I saw a neighboring tables non gluten free pizza and thought there was no way it would be that thick and holy, it is. On to the flavor, the sauce is nice and sweet with some fresh cheese. Awesome.
On to the chicken fingers, we got some at The Post the night before and those were pretty good as well, but Dough Counters breading was way crispier and a little bit sharper spice. Reminded me of a fast food chicken finger, but in a good way. Most gluten free breadings for chicken fingers are softer, without the crunch. The fries were awesome and fast foody as well, again, which is not a bad thing, when youre gluten free sometimes you just want to remember what it’s like to have some “normal” chicken fingers and fries like everybody else gets to have.
Service was also on point with decent speed and very polite.
If you’ve got a young at heart palate and a gluten sensitive stomach like I do, Dough Counter makes all your...
Read moreThis place made Sicilian style pizza my new favorite. Their gluten-free Sicilian pizza is divine.
Fluffy and the perfect amount of crispy edge. The salads were fresh and the chicken strips were tender, well-breaded. Everything went amazing with their house-made sauces (honey mustard and ranch were my fav). The green chili cheese bread was zesty and cheesy. I'll definitely be coming back for more of it.
The dining area has plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. Comfy and casual with a cool neon sign hanging on the wall. Everything was clean and everyone was so nice.
I was such a fan I brought an extra pizza home. The Hot Honey Pizza was a hit for me, so much so I brought some home. That dollop of ricotta cheese on top of the crispy pepperoni cups is chefs kiss!!!!! Some of the best pizza I've had INLCUDING their gluten-free options. They're mind-blowing. They do not mess around at Dough Counter.
Don't forget to try their desserts! The chocolate...
