I went in to do some research for a queen mattress for a spare bedroom because I didn't want to depend primarily on the internet. A mattress you need to see, touch, and feel. I had also been looking into an adjustable base for my king mattress for several months but found online the ones I would like to be very expensive, so I never "pulled the trigger" on that. I talked to Bret and he showed me options, answered my questions, and never pressured me or pushed me in any direction, just gave me the answers I needed. I went to two other places and found them to be more expensive and got that "used car salesman" vibe (sorry used car salesman!). One of the mattresses I looked at with Bret came with an adjustable base for free. I went in just looking for a queen mattress, not even knowing if I need a box or not ( I got a frame/headboard through a Home Depot promotion but didn't know if I would need a base or if it came with provisions to hold the mattress by itself. It arrived and found out I did need a box). I ended up back at Slumberland a few days later and Bret helped me out and went above and beyond by giving me a good deal, upgrading the queen box at the same price as the standard one and throwing in a mattress protector as well for the king (yes, I ended up buying for both bedrooms!). I hauled the queen set home and he helped me load it up. The king will be delivered and set up for me in a few weeks at no cost. We will see how that goes and I will update my review after I have slept on each of them a few times and give specifics of what the mattresses models are, etc. So far I am very pleased with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSlumberland is a horrible place to shop for furniture, and the customer service is horrible in office and with corporate, especially with the general manager of the southside location. I ordered 3 pieces of furniture and my first delivery was messed up because they brought the wrong piece of furniture. They then tried to charge me for their employees mistake and I had to wait a week to get the right piece even though it was sitting in their warehouse during that whole time. My second delivery was even worse as they scheduled the drop off and set up, arrived to my house (AFTER I took apart my bed frame and donated it) only to tell me they have no idea where the hardware is to assemble the bed frame so they can't set it up. They said "sorry" and left. 3 hours later I finally talk to Quak (southside manager) and he is completely unapologetic, says this could have happened anywhere and starts listing off other furniture companies and says you'll just have to wait... however we have no time frame to give you. In talking to corporate they pull the same bs response "this could have happened to anyone" so I needed to get over it and wait. When they finally gave me a time frame they said maybe 2 months or more. At that point I had already been waiting almost 2 months. I ended up canceling my bed frame order with them and paying more just to have the bedframe I wanted now, instead of waiting on Slumberland. They couldn't pay me to shop with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy time, my business were not valued here. We were attended by a salesman named Adam. He was polite and at the time to finalize the order said that an item was not immediately available. He said that he was going to check and stated that it would be about 3 weeks to get the item. He set a delivery date on 7/29. I remember this date very well because it was more than I would have wanted to wait, but my wife was happy because it was for her birthday weekend. I was expecting a call to confirm the delivery the day before, but it did not happen. I called and spoke to a manager named Ron. He said that one item would not be available until late August, thus no delivery would be made on 7/29. He also said that no date was set precisely because the item was not currently available. I asked Ron what he could do. He preferred that I told him what I wanted. I found this as very poor customer service because as I customer I would like to see how much my business is appreciated by coming up with a solution. He showed me with this (in my book), that not very much. He did accept to split the order so we could get a portion earlier and waived the delivery fee. I am not satisfied because I had to push back on work issues to receive the furniture already, my wife was waiting for the day to have the furniture, and Ron did not care when I said that if it was not because we already selected what we wanted I would cancel the order. Instead, he said: "you...
