I got my order to go. The low star rating had everything with the in restaurant experience. I've had bad experiences before and communicated it to local management. Tonight was more of the same. Complete disorganization in the kitchen. Lack of communication among the workers. Sloppy looking food prep areas. Long waits for orders to come up and customers looking at each other wondering what the heck is going on here. There was one man who ordered a meal with fish. After a ~10 minute wait, two workers were loudly arguing about the fact there was no fish and the other yelling that he had told everyone that earlier. And I mean yelling. Everyone in the dining room could hear this. This is the same worker filling side orders that were slopped together with beans or whatever on the outside of the containers. Other workers in the back were having loud personal conversations, again so loud everyone could hear. At some points I was wondering if a fight was going to break out. To local management and corporate: I love fried chicken. Popeye's has a great product. I have visited Popeye's locations when traveling without these problems and will continue to do so. However, don't bother sending me coupons or free offers because of this bad experience. I won't use them. I will NEVER go to a Popeye's in the Des Moines area again. To corporate: If you are reading this, the Popeye's in the Des Moines area are in such disarray perhaps their franchise license...
Read moreGot there at 5:20 pm and it is dark, no outside lights were on couldn't see their menu board. While taking my order could here the young lady inside talking with other workers. After waiting in drive thru for 10 min. Only one person helping us while 5 others stood around. She got our drinks and 5 min later brought us our order. There was one worker leaning on front counter talking to who I found out to be a manager. I told them it would be easier to order if there were some lights on outside. Got home and when we looked at the order we were missing a whole meal and a side order of mashed potatoes. Called them and asked for a manager and she informed me she was a manager. I told her I was on way back, they were going to replace what I was missing. She told me that was all she could do. When I arrived at the store there was nobody at counter and young man from the back said he would be there in a min. He was very pleasant. The manager came up and said she would take care of it. I asked about my fries that didn't get on my order. She said I would have to pay for them since I wasn't chartged for them. I asked her if she was " serious" . I never did get my mashed potatoes and I will not be going back!! Always check your order before leaving... the manager...
Read moreAfter repeating my order multiple times they still got it wrong. I had to go into the location to ask for my missing food and the "manager" was SO rude. His only response was "do you want your money back? Bring me my food!"
After blatantly wasting my time I spent another 5+ minutes inside trying to get a receipt to confirm I would be getting a refund. He refused stating they were for his paperwork and this isn't his problem. He told me to come back in 3 to 5 days if I didn't get my money back.To top it all off he had the receipts in his hand the entire time! For some reason he chose to refund each item individually.
I frequent popeyes but I will NEVER return to this location. He could've had a sense of urgency after I told him my 3 week old, my friend and my toddler were waiting for me in the car. I feel disgusted and disrespected right now. He kept saying things "aren't his problem."
I was also stopped by a customer on the way out who witnessed the entire incident and she was confident he treated me this way because of my race and he wanted to provoke me. I have NEVER saw a manager in any establishment behave as bad as this one. One of the associates felt the need to apologize for...
