Verizon, Verizon, Verizon.... what can I say about you? I guess I can start by explaining my relationship with Verizon... It is amazing. I have used them for years and without a doubt I love them... and not in the bromance type way, I mean straight up LOVE. But this review isnāt about Verizon; it's about Emerald Coast Pkwy #1 Verizon... so let's begin:
GENERAL: Since I have moved to Destin I have used this store with little to no complaint. The salespeople are great and they carry a decent selection of products. Like most technology stores are they have a limited knowledge of the actual technology so, if you are anything like me and want a detailed breakdown of the device, donāt expect much. They are sweet employees though and try hard to answer your questions.
SALES: eh⦠they are good guys/gals (like I said before) if you need help then they will help you to the best of their ability. They never appear overzealous in their attempt to rape your wallet but there will be an occasional sales pitch. If you really care enough about it, they are very much an equal opportunity store (broadcasting both Android and Apple as great products)⦠oh and the other two brandsā¦ummā¦. Blackberry (the phone your grandmother and or an 80 year old businessman uses) and Microsoft based phones (I am not sure what companies still have Microsoftās ego shoved up their Mobile sales departments).
PRODUCTS: It has everything you could possibly want⦠letās be honest here, we are in Lower Alabama⦠the fact that you can use any phone is impressive⦠letās not be picky.
LOCATION: Well if you had your smartphone you could probably just navigate to it⦠use your TomTom or CuzinWife whatever they call the GPS things down here.
As far as stores go this one is an A+. The manager seems great and the employees well trained with just the right amount of fear instilled into them by Corporate. I use Best Buy Mobile Center as well⦠really all I am saying is stay away from the god awful Verizon Authorized Retail Stores. Good Luck with your new phone or asking directions to Bass Pro because...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store is the epitome of why Verizon has been hemorrhaging users to T-Mobile and AT&T. Yes, they have a more robust network, but their staff is as useful as teets on a bull.
I have been with Verizon since they bought Alltel, and while their technology has gotten better with time, their customer service has gotten to the point that this store is only good for distributing sim cards. I asked them point blank if my account was unlocked because Verizon's website threw a fit last night and I got locked out, and they told me that they had unlocked it. Blatantly false. I told them that when they swapped my phone, that it needed to be configured as CDMA-less. They failed to do that SIMPLE task. All they did was change the SIM card to the new device, something I am fully capable of doing, and called it quits. Last time I went through this task they spent over an hour on the phone with the same tech support that I could have done, to do a task that I had already told them how to do.
This is also after they let the tower on my end of town's lease expire and they all but abandoned service to my side of town.
This is NOT the employees fault that their bosses aren't teaching them how to do proper end user support. But this is Verizon's fault. After 14 years with Verizon, and 5 years before that with Alltel, I am calling it quits and going to T-Mobile tonight, and taking my 9 family members with me. Farewell Verizon, I will not miss your constant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt normally write reviews, but wanted to share an excellent experience. My iPhone screen randomly went out on Labor Day weekend in the middle of a bachelorette trip. To make matters worse, AT&T did everything they could to prevent me from swapping carriers to get a new phone. I spent a couple hours at this Verizon store over two days as they tried to assist me with getting a new phone and gave me advice on how to handle getting my number released. When getting a transfer pin failed, they set me up with a temp number and explained how to resolve the situation once I was home. They even matched an online promotion that wasnāt available for immediate pickup and made sure my phone was syncing so I had everything I needed for my trip. I was able to get my original number ported over once I was home as promised. The same sales person helped me both days, and the manager assisted on the second day. I wish I remembered the sales associates name, but I hope the manager sees this and knows how much I appreciate their excellent customer service and patience with me during that...
