Review: Our recent stay at Comfort Inn Destin Florida on Commons Drive East was absolutely wonderful. All of the staff at this hotel truly made our experience exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness that immediately put us at ease after a long 15-hour drive.
Danielle, the staff member who first assisted us, was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Even before we could articulate our needs, she knew exactly how to make our stay comfortable and recommended enrolling in the Choice membership program, which added value to our visit. Her assistance felt like a blessing after a tiring journey.
Theresa's infectious smile is truly a beacon of joy at the hotel. Her warm greetings always made us feel welcome, like a ray of sunshine even from a distance.
Camara, a member of Leadership, her dedication to maintaining the breakfast area is commendable. We observed her early in the morning, tirelessly ensuring that everything was clean, fresh, and well-stocked, all while wearing a welcoming smile.
Ashlie, the Supervisor, deserves special recognition for her exceptional leadership skills. She effortlessly manages multiple tasks, communicates effectively with both guests and staff, and ensures that guest satisfaction remains a top priority. Read moreFirst, when we arrived cleaning products were still in our room. Not a big deal, I took it back down stairs. Then, we realized they charged our stay TWICE. They said they cancelled it so it should fall of in 3-5 days. We’re home now, and it still hasn’t returned! Then, I used the bathroom, and the toilet wasn’t working. So I told front desk and we got a plunger. We plunged and it still wasn’t working properly. When we got back from our outing the next day we made them aware and they sent someone up to check it out around 7pm. They were there with our door propped open until almost 10pm. So I went down and asked for an update because we have children and need to shower. The OWNER’S First word was “checkout”, and that he didn’t have any room available to accommodate us. He also said “the shower is working fine”. As if I they haven’t been in and out and using the tub for whatever they were doing to the toilet. He was rude and dry as if his customer were not the ones being inconvenienced! I told him no we weren’t checking out because we were already charged twice to stay here! I also told him he needs to have better customer service! This was the OWNER! (I confirmed it.) Eventually- somehow a room became available and they moved us. On top of this he had his family living in the hotel who also came to our room looking for him!!! Like what?! So unprofessional! I am baffled at how this entire stay was handled! Terrible terrible terrible! They also need to make sure they hire more front desk people as it was left unattended a lot!! And they need to hire actual cleaners and not family members so that the rooms can get a thorough cleaning. Several of the lights in the room (either room we had) didn’t work so be aware of that too. Read moreMy fiance and I took a last minute trip to Destin for 4 nights 5 days. We didn't need anything fancy, just a clean place to shower and sleep. Comfort Inn was fairly cheap and had at least 4 stars in all of the reviews. It was pretty much what l expected. The room was kind of small and there wasn't a dresser. There was a narrow rack with about 5 hangers and 2 small drawers underneath. The room also had a microwave and a dorm sized refrigerator. We were able to keep some drinks in it, nothing else would fit. The room was clean for the most part. Except, the blanket and sheets that were on the bed, when we arrived, had brown stains and some other debris on them. That's one thing I can't do, so we took them off and went down to the desk to ask for replacements. It was around 10pm and the only employee was the guy at the front desk. We were completely fine with grabbing everything and remaking the bed ourselves. The employee went into a back room and came back with sheets and a large throw blanket. He said housekeeping was gone and that was all they had. Found that bit odd but we made it work for the night. Besides that, our stay was good. The hotel seemed nearly empty for most of the week. We didn't even have neighbors until the last night. One thing I want to note is if you are going to be late checking in, specifically past 9pm, make sure to call and let them know. You could lose your reservation if you don't. That made zero sense to me. Most guests, us included, already paid for the entire stay. Why would they cancel your reservation for checking in later?
