I just moved to the neighborhood and needed to get some groceries, my car is down so I had to walk and this place is a few blocks away. The outside was okay. The area is was somewhat busy. People park at the entrance so there's a lot going on in that tight space , but I managed myself in. I got a cart and just got few items that qualified on my benefits card. Bread(fresh), bagels(old&dry), pop, tea,, cinnamon rolls, all the bananas were green so had to ripen at home, cereal, & such, about 20 items. Cost darn near $90(the money sign,$, goes in front of numbers, not after. I've been seeing it after in people's posts. Missed that lesson in school.) The prices did seem high for same items in Meijers & Kroger's. When I fix my car, I'll drive the extra miles to Meijer. When I got home and checked my receipt, my items were doubled, costing $45, not $90!! (A scam to later change to one set of items, keep the $45 cash out the till, then turn in drawer.) I called back and customer service lady saw the doublement & refunded $40 onto my card. She was polite and helpful. There was only 3 cashiers working so lines became long. They need to hire a few more to keep up with the demand. This my first time so it may be normal to them. My cashier was a lovely, pretty young lady that was polite and respectful. She needed assistance with my benefits card to ring up items differently. I'm patient so it was all straightened out. This store will just be for if I need something for dinner, or for a few items Not for my major grocery shopping. They were average. I've been to both, nice stores and to nastier stores. I came out the way I came in, šblah. Just come here if you need few items or for a meal plan because the prices seemed high for low...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIve never been to this area before. So Iām only reviewing store. Not rating. . But being here for the museum. I needed food. This was the closest place. Its an older food store with a lot of diversified stock but not competitively priced. From other reviews. It appears their business model is flawed. They dont understand that sales bring more customers. If you diversify too much. Prices are too high for too little product stock. If you donāt diversify, you charge more because you control product people buy. You want to charge as little as possible. That increases profits. But I can tell they think just charging more will make them more money... which is bad business . This place is Close to a college and various museums and hospitals. All walking distance. This place should be the nicest in the area. I was confused at how vintage the place is. Ive not been in a grocer like this in 20 years. Whatās wrong? I go to check out after getting wine, water, and a bag of salad. Wine was 1-2$ more expensive than competitive but Iām ok with that... after I check out some guy walks up in front of me. Pretending to check out and asks the girl behind the check stand if she is ok. Insinuating I was causing her problems. So I can infer this store is run by a bad judgmental manager on a power trip. . My suspicions confirmed by other reviews. They need to re-evaluate how much stock. How much they can discount. And what they need to sell the most of. Then advertise their sales. Then reinvest in modernizing the store. Otherwise it will stage the entire employee base down and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the worst grocery store I've ever shopped in. Their bottle machine never works which is understandable because they obviously use profit money for their own personal issues because their site issues are a mess. The produce section looks like it was put together by 2 year olds. I would never buy their produce. The containers their in are dirty and nasty. The store smells awful. It's sad that it's called food pride because they have no pride in what they sell or them selves. They just don't care about their customers or the community or even themselves. To be able to show up at their store everyday in the condition it's in with a smile on their face tells you what they think of themselves. It's really sad because whatever third world country they came from they certainly didn't come for the American dream. They came to be lazy and dirty. They brought the third world with them. I'm sure their kids are so proud of what they've doneš¤£š¤£ I would be embarrassed to acknowledge them as family. Really all nasty comments aside get some respect for yourselves and your community and have some pride in yourselves and your store and I guarantee you'd see a better profit and everything would be in working order. Right now I don't see this store standing to...
