I recently visited The Inn on Ferry Street, and it’s truly a beautiful property that is comprised of four different homes side-by-side. Antonette from Creators Come Together invited a few of us to check it out, and Trinity from The Inn on Ferry Street took us on an awesome tour. Each house has its own charms and all feel similar but unique. I can imagine booking a staycation here or suggesting it to friends when they are in town. My favorite part is the courtyard. It’s beautiful, it’s spacious, and it gets the gears in my mind going about what events I could have there. I love the garden and the secret hedge hideaway. They are so flexible with bookings, you can book a room, book a house, or really cater to whatever idea you might have in mind. The fact that it is within walking distance to my favorite place, the Detroit Institute of Arts, makes it even cooler. Do yourself a favor and check out this shining gem in Detroit. The blend of historic charm and modern amenities creates a unique experience that is both comfortable and inspiring. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or a venue for a special event, The Inn on Ferry Street is an excellent choice. I’m already planning my next visit and thinking about the possibilities for future gatherings. This place is a real gem in the heart of Detroit. #DetroitInfluencer #DetroitFoodie #MetroDetroitInfluencer #MetroDetroitFoodie

This is the first time in 25 years that my husband and I had a weekend out without children and this is what we endured in less than 24 hours. When we arrived, I had the privilege of listening to an employee who she stated had only worked for 4 days and was left completely alone. She had to check people in, check people out, service breakfast, do dishes, etc. I listened to this before, during, and after we were checked in. We talked into our house and couldn't get the door to our room open. My husband traveled back to the new house to find out the new employee have us the wrong key and that was after searching when we first got their for 5 minutes. The shuttle personal was great!!! We got in from a Detroit Tiger game and dinner at 1000 pm. We heard water running, running, and running. I thought it was a toilet running and running so we got up and went to the bathroom because now it sounded like a waterfall. It was coming out of our lighting in the ceiling. Scary. I called the main desk and was told there is nobody to help us. She is the only one in a 6 houses and she can't leave. Although she did say she was sorry. We mopped up the water with all the towels we had and used both garage cans to caught the water. We didn't want it to ruin the carpet. We had to listen to water leaking, and dripping into 2 metal garbage cans for 4 hours until 0300 am. It was like Chinese torturer. So we slept from 0300 until 0700. I had to call for towels in the morning and they acted like they didn't know why. Then we went to check out, they made no attempt to apologize for our unfortunate evening. She acted like she had no idea. Does anyone talk to each other in this place? We had to explain what happened and they may want someone to take a look, we took showers without lighting because we didn't know if we would start an electrical fire. They also didn't give us anything for our misfortune. Then when I got home I noticed I was charged an extra $113.00. Not only did they not discount our stay they charged more. Then I talked to the agency, they stated I would get the money back in 3-5 days. They could take my money immediately out of my account but couldn't return it immediately. Not a great experience...

What a disappointment. For $300/night I was expecting a lot more but got almost none of it. Tiny room that was oversold online. A bathroom without a sink. The sink was IN the main room and so small that even my toothbrush wouldn’t fit in it. They must have thought the sink was useless, too, since I wasn’t even provided a hand towel! Hot water literally took 5 minutes to get to the room.||While acknowledging the building is old and historic, the room didn’t have AC and one window was literally falling out of the frame along with its screen. Was hoping a wind gust didn’t take it fully out, as without the AC, I needed to have the windows open which allowed me to be serenated by area traffic, sirens, and even people on the street talking. Sheer window curtains made things awkward in the room, as the next building and all its windows and guests were just 50 feet away. To boot, the curtains were hanging off the rods and chewed up in some areas. ||The porch off the parking area was decrepit with handrails literally missing and falling off. Some areas looked rotting as though a misstep would send you through beneath. No amenity guides for the Inn or the region were offered to guests and a question about area dinner options was met with one idea, though easy research once I got to my room showed a plethora of options just steps away from the Inn, all of which should have been contained in a guide for guests (and a show to community with other area local businesses). ||Only small appetizer plates were offered for breakfast and table service coffee was colder than my half-empty self-poured cup. Eggs were ICE cold and sausage was at best lightly warm. ||I discussed all this with the front desk and was verbally offered a discount. Good, except that I had to contact them three times to get them to follow through on this and even in that phone conversation staff did not care at all about the less than pleasant stay.||This stay was one of the largest disappointments across my years of travel. Not recommended and...

On a recent visit to Detroit, we stayed at the Inn on Ferry Street for the 2nd time, and it will most certainly be our last. ||After a late arrival we dropped our bags and ran to get a bite to eat. On our return to the room i first noticed spay of some description all over the mirror in the bathroom. then i noticed the drips and streaks down the tissue box holder. I grabbed a wet wipe and wiped down the mirror, ok not a huge deal. ||In the morning and in the daylight, my husband noticed crusted on vomit down the side of his night stand, as well as a sticky top with sticky glass rings.||I had a look and noticed it was down the front of the side table drawers as well. Yuck!||As we left the room that day, I stopped by reception to tell them, they apologized and said they would get on it right away and give me a small compensation for the dirty room. ||Later that afternoon we returned, only to find the vomit had not been cleaned. I had had enough of looking at it by this point and got the wet wipes out and cleaned it all.||If we hadn't been on such a tight schedule we would have changed hotels. My friends were also staying at the hotel and couldn't believe it. ||I mentioned it again to reception and they apologized again. ||The next morning our room was not cleaned at all. ||The rates on the hotel room were not cheap and for the price I would certainly expect a clean room. ||If this is what you could see and they missed it twice, it makes you wonder what, if anything, had been wiped or sanitized. ||I checked out of the hotel and and advised I would like to speak to a manager, however no one was available to speak to. ||The hotel gave me a small $70 credit and told me to phone the manager.||Since my return home, I have sent two emails with no response. I would have expected to receive an acknowledgement at least one of the three nights to be compensated. ||Clearly there is a lack of cleanliness and management at this hotel. ||If you want filth and vomit in your room. This is the...
