Peacock Room — Local services in Detroit

TL;DR - shop here, you won’t regret it.

After recently going on an adventure of trying on 30+ dresses from a mix of local and online retailers for an upcoming wedding, I desperately went to The Peacock Room after recalling that at an event once three years ago I complimented a random women’s dress and she gushed about how it was from the Peacock Room.

I first went to the Park Shelton location - fantastic with kind, attentive staff and a great inventory of options. After trying on some options, I found a few things to purchase but was still feeling stubborn. Just five minutes away, me t, I went to the Fischer location and was warmly greeted by multiple staff. They helped orient me to a whole host of options, made recommendations, and even played tiara dress up with my daughter right next door to the changing room.

The dress selection at this place is amazing and well-suited to all events, most budgets, most styles, and most sizes. I think this place has something for everyone. I am absolutely OBSESSED with The Peacock room! Not only do I get to strut the halls of the illustrious Fisher Building like I'm on Detroit's 30 under 30 list, but I got to have my own mini fashion show, trying on dresses of all different aesthetics.

The highlight of this Shop is the staff (and the other patrons!) who hype you up/give compliments/suggestions when you exit the fitting room. It really felt like I was just out for a girls day, shopping with friends.

If dresses aren't your jam, there's plenty of accessories, jewelry and odds and ends for you to peruse through.

Only downside- there are fur items in the shop. With such quality faux furs existing these days, no reason to bring animals into the mix anymore.

Can't wait to be back soon, getting a dress that I promise I'll wear to more than one occasion but...

I went to all 4 of the stores on Sunday with my family as a girls day to find my mom a few dresses for my daughter’s wedding . I have to say that we were blown away by the excellent service from the ladies , we met Rachel the owner who was absolutely fabulous in every kind way. We felt we were transported in time , and I can’t even remember the last time I actually enjoyed shopping. We all found something, and left with our goodies in hand along with 3 dresses.
