Update: Their Chocolate Zuchini Bread is so amazing that i ordered a whole loaf (plus a loaf of vegan lemon cake) for a family gathering. People went crazy over it, even as left-overs! Medium price for a cafe's cake ($22 per loaf, feeds 8-10 pieces each). Their plain coffee is french press, which i LOVE.
Update: This can't be said about too many places. Everything about coming to promenade is a delight. The fisher building is so beautiful, the food here is delicious, and every single member of their team kind, warm, and helpful. I really want to thank Josh, Kale, Lauren, and Lucile (and James, the owner) for being a consistent and reliable source of delight to their customers.
Update: Their chocolate zuchini cake is absolutely amazing. I shared some with my colleagues at work and everyone went bananas over it. French press coffee continues to be lovely. I love that coffee with a DELICIOUS dessert is still less than $10 here.
Original review: First impression: so good! Great food, great coffee, great WiFi! I think I have a new favorite :) This place is really a step ahead of many others in quite a few ways. A few downsides at the end of the review.
They make very pleasant, nutritious sandwiches that are not messy. I had the breakfast sandwich; contents were mixed and cooked and bread was toasted just right. Lovely. They have delicious coffees, including manual brews like French press (which is VERY RARE) and it is delicious. Their WiFi has a strong password and is blazing fast (200mbps down, about 30 up), in contrast to many cafes and restaurants that have poor security or poor speeds on their internet. Friendly, warm servers and baristas. Their prices are average. French press for about $3 and breakfast sandwich for about $7.
Downsides: Limited power outlet availability. Don't rely on charging your electronics here. Limited daytime and weekday service hours. I truly hope demand grows with consistency, so that it becomes feasible for them to serve until later and...
Read morePromenade Detroit Cafe, located in the stunning Fisher Building, offers a delightful experience with its warm and inviting atmosphere. Having visited multiple times, I can confidently say that their holiday menu options are a game-changer. This past Valentine's Day, they truly came through for me when I celebrated my first Valentine’s Day as a married man. The personal touch was incredible, especially since I ordered the same strawberries for my wife as I did for our first year of dating anniversary……courtesy of the talented Desi, who has proven to be one of a kind in creating those sweet treats! Really love that she found a home at Promenade Detroit!!
The staff at Promenade Detroit is always welcoming and attentive, and the cafe itself is always clean and well-maintained. Definitely a great place to grab breakfast or a warm quick stop in lunch with amazing coffee!! Whether you're a regular or visiting for a special occasion, I highly recommend making the trip. You won’t be disappointed by the food, the atmosphere, or the personal touches that make every visit...
Read moreOmg the reviews do not do this place justice!!! Let me start off with the warm greetings they give when you walk in. So nice. Then the amazing smells that hit you as soon as you walk in. Fantastic! I got the lemon bar, the chocolate chip cookie, a breakfast sandwich and a kale salad with chicken. The lemon bar was so delicious, with a perfect crust, and creamy inside, I ate the whole thing while waiting for my sandwich. The cookie was great as well. The sandwich which they told me was put on bread they bake in house was absolutely delicious. Great crunch, eggs and the other ingredients inside tasted so yummy. The salad tastes fresh and not soggy. The chicken is served cold, but still really good with no weird after taste. Everything was a 10/10 I totally recommend this spot if you’re downtown. I’m in school down here and the service was quick enough for me to order, and still make it with plenty of time to get back to class. I will definitely be back daily. I’m praying I get my clinical’s close by so I can come back after...
