NOTE - This is specific to the online ordering and (lack of) assistance from the retail store only.
On July 30th, I placed an order for an Eastern Market Street 11x14 Luster Print. Regarding the time to receive it, it stated the following:
Shipping method Iconic Detroit Shipping (Included in price. 2-4 week delivery)
Nothing after 4 weeks so, I tried sending an email to find out where it was. After another week, I received an email stating that the order was "ready to ship and should ship within the week. You will receive your tracking number as soon as possible."
Four days later, no tracking and no product. I called and was given the same response.
On September 10, I received an email stating: "Though I am still awaiting the tracking details to your order. I am confident your order has been shipped. I truly appreciate your patience during this inconvenience. I will give you an update on the whereabouts of your order asap." That was the last communication I had with them.
I made another couple of phone calls and left a message once that was not returned.
As of today, 9/26/25, still no product and no tracking information. I have now reached out to my credit card company and they have reversed the charge.
Beware when ordering product from them. You may never get your item(s) and the follow up is nearly non-existent. There was almost no effort to get my order to me or to...
Read moreWhen I first visited Pure Detroit's Fisher location, I was initially disappointed. Nowhere was there pyramids of tackleboxes stacked six men deep, as I am accustomed to from my home of Florida swamplands. Nor were there rods from which I could hang my line, or fishing line for that matter!
However, once I realized that I'd been tricked by that Yankee witch down in Miami, things started looking up. I discovered I was in a city called Detroit, right across a big ol' stream from a bunch of city slickers that talk a bit like folk from New Orleans. The staff talked me down from my hastily erected pyramid and told me about the city's history, much of which was represented in their fine merchandise. I left with six crates of product with which to begin the long ride home. I shall sell them to my kinsmen, and tell tales of the mysterious land in the North.
TL;DR- Knowledgeable staff, wide variety of merchandise to catch your eye. No pyramids. Infinity symbol turned...
Read moreStumbled upon the tour with Jacob which was a treat adding to everything else we did on my 40th birthday. As a kid Born and Raised in South Detroit, who had to move away in my youth due to my family relocating, I love every opportunity to go back and learn about the city and my heritage. We went from the DIA for Van Gogh, to the Fisher Building and this tour, and then onto LCA for a Red Wings game. For me, the Fisher Building Tour was the best part of the day (after all the Wings only showed up for the 3rd!... that's OK, give them a few more seasons, eh?) and it's because of the passion Jacob had for the building and its history. 100 year old paintings are neat, but you don't get someone like Jacob talking about the stuff, even through the audio tours. This will be something I tell everyone about when I'm sticking up for Detroit out and about in the rest of the world...
tldr: 10/10, best historical tour I've ever...
