On February 9, 2023 I came into the store to the jewelry department to be Pacific. I asked the lady where is the jewelry for the man’s. She pointed in a far direction without asking if I needed any type of assistance whatever however I asked her can I see a necklace that was gold she took it out. I went to touch it and she told me I cannot touch the merchandise, I told her how can that be how can I know if I want to purchase this item if I can’t even touch it she said you would have to just look at it and put it up towards her neck and I told her that is wrong Because she is discriminating as she claim it is the rules being double Covid I said ma’am, it’s not that serious, because if Covid was the problem, the store would not be open and everyone we wearing masks however, I asked to speak to a manager and she said sure no problem call the manager And then became very dramatic. The manager approached me. I explain to him that that was wrong. How can you get a customer to purchase something if they can’t even touch what they are interested in buying, he apologize to me he let me see the necklace however I believe it was unprofessional because he let her to believe that what she did was OK and that was wrong. She discriminate against me because of the way I look she assume that I did not have money I am a customer there. I have a credit card from JCPenney I spend thousands of dollars in that store and I would never ever purchased anything again from that store or recommend JCPenney to anyone if they going to have Brooke is like that...
Read moreI was harassed by the store manager on duty Michelle and her assistant on duty John. I went with my wife and son to return a shirt due to wrong size. I didn't realize that it was over sixty days and the return policy is sixty days or less. The man by the name of John in a rude and loud voice, told me that he couldn't return or exchange the shirt. He never greeted me or had empathy, probably because I was a person of color. I didn't like the tone of his voice and attitude, I asked to call the manager. He first lied by saying that he was the manager, but then called another manager on duty by the name of Michelle. When I tried explaining her the situation, she supported her assistant and raised her voice at me and kept talking over me. I felt offended and scared. I told her that I will escalate this to the area or district manager, she told me get lost. I felt discriminated due to my color. I told her I will escalate that and started walking towards the exit door with my son and wife. She kept following her and my son started crying because he got scared of her. I told her stay back, don't follow us we feel harassed but she didn't listen. We finally were able to exit the store. They demonstrated harassment, threats, arrogance and rude attitude. I am surprised people like that are employed, they shouldn't be working at a reputable store like JCPenney. I will escalate this to corporate office and will go as higher as I could to ensure this doesn't happen to other customers. Racist staff, they think they own the store. Very...
Read moreThe watch department is horrible. Waited for over 20 minutes and then people who just walked up were helped before me and ended up not making a purchase. I was then ignored a second time as she helped a different customer. At the time it was not busy at all. There was only one customer ahead of me in the beginning who was waiting for a manager due to a watch that was being repaired for several weeks now and they too were unsatisfied with the watch department. This is not the first bad experience I've encountered here. This was the 5th time and most certainly my last visit to this department. The associates are uneducated in the watches they sell and I recommend you to do business elsewhere. They have tried to sell me batteries for watches that are solar powered. I had to show an associate how to program a watch there before. I was turned away several times because they did not know how to remove links from a watch. Big...
