Stay away from this store and La-Z-Boy products, consider Jackson Catnapper or and other product besides La-Z-Boy, as well as stay away from this Dickson City location. I was a health professional in-training living in PA and made a first-time purchase of a 2-seat La-Z-Boy recliner, for an older relative and myself. Deborah Valeant was the sales representative. I even thanked her for her sales advocacy in picking out the product. She was highly effective in talking up La-Z-Boy products and convincing me this beige fabric was the choice for the recliner because it goes with everything, even though I usually purchase a colorful design. The recliner cost, with bells and whistles cost about $5000. When the recliner was delivered the persons had it out of the box and leaning on the gravel front parking area in front of my place in Danville, PA. When I inquired about the box or wrappings, they noted they had already uncovered the recliner for speed and were ready to place it in my home. I was working often and took more than 7 days to realize the beige upholstery was/looked dirty on the right-side panel where the recliner leaned on the ground and the fabric in general looked worn. Everyone who saw pictures or saw the chair in person realized there was something wrong with the fabric. The remote on one side also stopped working prompting me to finally reach out to Deborah. Deborah went from being a great salesperson to noting the chair was basically my problem now, even though I am on a payment plan to pay off the 5K. No one at her store including the manager could do anything regarding the recliner, according to her. I was given the La-Z-Boy Comfort Care phone number and the experience was and continues to remain awful across states. Essentially, I am paying for a furniture protection feature where the conversation is circular, no accountability or responsibility or actual fair remediation and the chair was delivered around October 2023. I have received no refunds, discounts or offer of chances to have the furniture reupholstered. I continue to make on time payments to pay off the 5K despite my dissatisfaction. I strongly urge consumers to purchase another manufacture/Brand of recliner or furniture and do so in a non-La-Z-Boy establishment. Their prices are high and their service when you need service is poor. I have had zero issues with the Jackson Catnapper and because of the La-Z-Boy experience made sure that the product came into my home in the box so I could see it taken out of...
Read moreI needed a chair right away and I knew la-z-boy's reputation was excellent from my childhood when my father had a Joe Namath version rocker recliner. I went to the store and I only had 30 minutes before they closed... The two store associates had the perfect demeanor for a guy like me.. they let me know that they were there to help but gave me my space so I can make my decision. After looking around for a few minutes I asked him if I could grab something today cuz I wanted a chair for the weekend. the both of them spring up into action and showed me all the available models that I could grab right off the showroom floor. They showed me a wide variety and were very pleasant and cheerful. As I gave them some of my personal preferences the narrow down my search to about three or four chairs of which I found the perfect la-z-boy rocker recliner. The one gentleman started doing some of the paperwork while the other female associate sprang into action on the register. In about five minutes they'd completed the sale and in another 5 minutes they had my chair at the back loading dock ready to load into my truck. it was ice and snow in my truck bed that I had forgotten about and they provided me with some bubble wrap to cover the icy wet mess. They then helped me load it into the truck and I was on my way at 8 o clock sharp. I'm proud to say I am an owner of a la-z-boy rocker recliner. And yes I did fall asleep in it...
Read moreMy husband and I are very upset with LaZBoy and especially the Assistant Manager, Debbie Valeant. We ordered 2 pieces of furniture with a plaid fabric April 2021. They were delivered August 2021. Craftsmanship was very poor and the lines of the plaid did not line up. After many calls to Comfort Care and visits to the Scranton store, corporate finally agreed to replace the 2 pieces. We reordered the 2 pieces in November but we had to pick a solid fabric because corporate could not guarantee quality craftsmanship on a plaid fabric. I was told by Debbie that furniture was coming in April, then May, then June. I (Lorraine) went into store June 25th and expressed my frustration to Debbie. I thought that as assistant Manager, she would be able to give me an answer as to when we could expect our furniture. But much to my surprise and embarrassment, Debbie walked away from me and said "I am done with you." She said this to me in the store in front of other employees. I cannot believe this is how LaZBoy trains its managers to deal with dissatisfied customers. After lodging my complaint, corporate notified me of a July delivery. After dealing with LaZBoy for 15 months, we are not optimistic. Our recommendation is do not buy furniture from the Scranton store and do not deal with Debbie Valeant. Michael &...
