I purchased an item on 7/18 at the Dickson City location. In the parking lot, the item slipped out & smashed. I was upset, as this was the only one of this item. It was never wrapped or protected during the checkout process. I assessed the damage & decided to call the store at 1:43 pm. I explained what happened & I wanted to exchange the item for the same product. The woman expressed she was sorry, placed me on a hold & informed me there were no more available. I asked if I can be called if the item ever came back in stock, she said I would have to check myself or call daily.
Today, 8/4 I returned to the store to return the broken product as the item never returned for me to exchange. I sent my boyfriend to the line with the receipt & payment card, while I went to use the restroom. I was in line, as there was only one working stall when he called me saying the manager, Jamee, was refusing the return because it was broken. My boyfriend told Jamee how I called the store, she was asking who I spoke to. The associate never informed me of their name but I had a call log that I was asked to bring up to show I called. I left the bathroom line from the back of the store to the front to show Jamee who then said it didn’t matter & she didn’t wish to see it. I attempted to show her twice. Now, I am eight months into a high risk pregnancy and came to provide proof of this phone call without being able to use the restroom.
I was treated with awful customer service and was questioned why I didn’t return the item the same day, which is due to a busy schedule but isn’t a requirement question for making a return within the 30 day period, with the receipt and the payment card. She then told me next time I need to provide a name of an associate that I speak to, where does it say this when making a return with a proof of purchase? I have never had an issue in this store prior but it is now clear that associates do not care to wrap fragile items, tell you it’s okay to exchange the product (even though this item was 1/1), but when you get to the store to make the return it is denied until a pregnant girl walks across the store and is then embarrassed in front of the whole checkout line.
I am a manager myself and would never treat a paying customer with proof of purchase in this manner. Teach your associates to wrap fragile items and your management to get off...

Read moreI just left this store a few minutes ago, and I'm a little annoyed. When I checked out, the cashier asked me if I had one of their TJ Maxx cards, and I said no. She asked if I wanted one, and I said no again. She said their card could really help save me money, and I said I know, but that I'm in the process of buying a house, and I can't open any new lines of credit. She didn't even wait for me to finish before she turned and started talking to a fellow employee. I guess this person was putting things away, and may or may not have been working yet. Full on conversation while I'm standing there. I only purchased 1 item and kept trying my card, but nothing was happening. She finally turned back to me, said my total and hit a button so I could run my card. Then, while still talking to whoever was at the end of the counter, she took the receipt and stuffed it in the bag. I had my hand out to take it to put in my purse, but it was already in the bag. SHE'S STILL TALKING TO HER COWORKER! I reached for the bag, and when I lifted it up, the tags sticking out got caught on something at the register, and that's when she finally looked back at me. This was all in a matter of minutes, but I felt like as soon as I turned her down for the credit card, 3 times by the way, she could care less. She was more interested in talking to the coworker. I won't be making an effort to come back to this particular TJ Maxx. There are plenty of other good ones with cashiers who don't ignore you when...
