Roma Pizza — Restaurant in Dickson City

So..went to Romas pizza on Rt 6 tonite (5/28) for an early dinner with my family. We ordered a few appetizers, 2 pizzas & 2 pastas dishes. The waitress was friendly & quick to come over and take our order. The appetizers came out right away and the pasta dishes came out about 5 minutes later. She said the pizzas would be right out. We wait a few minutes & we see 2 pizzas get put in the oven. We ask the waitress when the pizzas would be out & if the pizzas we saw just get put in the oven were ours. They were. So, we said we didn't want them, just a couple boxes & the check. We were annoyed, but whatever.. it was early & we could order a pizza from another place on the way home. Now, the owner comes over. He wanted to explain why the pizzas weren't out.. nobody's perfect, they got backed up, etc. Maybe they had a lot of take outs, I don't know, but in the dining room was my family of 4 & another table of 2. Hardly enough to get backed up. If he had just come over to apologize without the nonsense excuses and not speak to us in a raised voice, everything would have been fine. We asked for the boxes & check for what we got already 2 more times & he refused.. said he would take care of it. And that he was going to fire the waitress because it was her fault that the kitchen was faster than the pizza guy. We told him repeatedly it was not her fault, she did nothing wrong and that the kitchen staff needs to coordinate with the pizza guy..the waitress has nothing to do with it. After the last time of him telling us that he would cover the food, we get up to leave. He's been yelling this entire time and while we weren't whispering, we also were not yelling back. My family walks out the door & I am last to leave, but I see him go up the waitress and FIRE HER!!! I tell both the owner & waitress that she did nothing wrong & he continues to carry on like a complete fool. It's at this point my husband yells that he's being an a#$hole. Now, the owner starts carrying on about this is what's wrong with you people in this country... he's out of control! Will never get a meal from them again! And I hope if he kept with his decision to fire her, she will realize that she doesn't want to work for...

Horrible experience, honestly this kills me to write bc i buy A lot of pizza here and actually enjoy their food , lately the quality has gone down and the price has gone up , especially on this run , paper cup in a paper bag with soup , tips over in bag , and not only spills but soaks my car and pizza below , leaving a wet sloppy half baked mess for $27 plus a tip !! I called to complain obviously and not only did i get the run around about having no manger and nothing they can do for me , but First Lady i spoke To pretends to put me on hold and continues to talk about me and other customers on how she can’t deal with people and continues to say im lying about their soup in a paper cup spilling in a paper bag to clearly make a mess !! Not only will i not be going here any more to purchase anything at all , i will Also be telling my many Dickson city family and friends that this place is no longer the local family operated place we know and love , your better off skipping this place next time your looking for some good pizza to get your family for dinner !! Over priced and sub par service to say the least , and don’t let them mess your food up , YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND !! ** edited to respond to the owner that i guess Only responds to google reviews instead of calling a customer back , the soup was not packaged correctly bc you put it in a paper cup with a paper lid no wrap or foil around it or anything . Wise word of advice , instead of replying to your google reviews trying to save face how about you train your employees not to talk smack on your customers and or argue with people after poor execution, based on these reviews i can Tell I’m not the first person having a problem getting a refund !!! I will Never be using your business again due to poor packaging and horrible service , pizza and a cup of paper soup is not worth $27 especially with the service your providing . Not due to an “accident while in transport” i didnt Even know the soup tipped over in the bag bc for some reason you people think paper is...

Overall, a good place. We have enjoyed the food every time except one. The service is usually quick and friendly. They have nice big booths that are comfortable. They serve really nice rolls with some of the pasta dishes. They are worth a visit alone, most of the time. The one time that the food was not good, the rolls were also bad. They were overdone. The pasta sauce was bland and just not the normal. We like their hoagies and their pizza. I guess they were just having an off night. We asked if the cook was new. Apparently not, he was the regular cook so who knows. We have only gone back once since and we were regulars before that bad experience. The next time, were played it safe, I had a salad and hubby had a hoagie. I am really worried about their pasta, which I used to love.

Edit: strong cleaner while customers still have food and drinks is not a good idea. Seriously changed the taste of my husband's coffee. It was already bad enough that they were making us feel unwelcome 20 minutes before closing time. But then they starting cleaning with something that affected us, badly. Whatever happened to mild things, that don't kill the customers. Have you ever heard of health issues? Asthma? You are slowly eating away at the stars you once had. I am seriously considering not returning any more after this...
