I feel I was mislead when dropping off a tv for a repair. I asked how much did it start out at and was told $55 which I paid plus taxes but I told them not to repair it until I knew the full price. When I was called I was told it would be quiet a bit of money and they had already repaired it. He then told me that they start out at $150 for labor and then parts. Had I know that up front I would not have went there. He did give me a $25 discount but they had already repaired it before talking to me so I went ahead and paid for it. It ended up being $185.00 total they had it for 1 hour and 15 minutes when I found out it was already repaired. I had company coming and I was running around - cleaning my house. I threw in a load of blankets, not realizing that my remote was in the blankets. Needless to say, washing your remote isn't good for it! Back track for a second, I was having a really emotional day. Then - when I ruined our remote, I felt like crying. With good intentions I cut the cord and self-installed an antenna--albeit incorrectly. I couldn't receive several channels I wanted and had pixelization on some even with relatively strong signals. Turns out I forgot to unfold one of the critical elements which the installers at Denton's recognized immediately from the ground. Once they fixed the issue I went from 30 to 53 channels and it fixed the problems with those I was receiving. Very few people have knowledge of antennas here in the 21st century. If you're thinking of cutting the cord I highly recommend paying these pros and getting it done right from the start....
