I am so shocked by the rude treatment I received this evening at the fairgrounds!I am a disabled 57yr. Old woman.i am unable to walk more than 40-70ft.at a time with asistance.i have severe nerve nueropothy,a missing second toe on my right foot,3 herniated discs in my lower back along with numerous other issues. I have a disability tag hanging from my trucks rear view mirrow.when I arived at the fairgrounds earlier this evening to go to the derby with my granddaughters,I paid the male parking attendant and asked him to please park me as close as possible to the entrance.A he was telling me that he didn't think he had anymore handy capped spots left and was trying to see how close he could park me, this blonde haired woman came hollering at me "there are NO more handicapped spaces you have to park up here!" I replied" honey, can u at least try to get me a little bit close and have areal hard time walking." She was quit rude and loudlyreplied" I am not your honey."then coined with " you can park up here or get your money back ." I replied" I'll take my money back." I wasn't sure how she wanted me to turn Around so I was doing the best I could to get turned around as she came back towards me yelling " get out of my parking lot!" I replied" I 'm trying!"by this time I felt so disrespected that I replied this is no more your parking lot than it is mine." I then drove over to the other parking lot gave the young man my parking money, explained walking disability. He directed me to a parking spot and I parked.before I could even open my door the same woman came storming over to me; shoving 3 dollars in my face: yelling "here's your money!, I told you to get out of MY parking lot!" MY granddaughters and I left in shock! I have been coming to events here at this fairground since the early 1980's and have never ever been treated so rudely and disrespectfull. It is not my fault that I am disabled.i do not understand this treatment that I recieved. I am extremely upset and...
Read moreWe try and attend events here, but don't go hungry, if only concessions are open, it's overpriced, they're always out of everything (no ketchup for burgers, out of napkins) and whomever is working does NOT want to be there and let's you know it, and they're all confused as to what's happening, how much things cost and what your change is (and it's not teenagers either) So the events are ok. On par for what you expect from a small town, just don't expect to get anything to eat if they don't have outside vendors happening, or you will be stuck with a crappy burger, and a packaged slice of American cheese for an extra dollar (sold seperately) and no ketchup/mustard/mayo or napkins, for more expensive than Wendy's or McDonalds.
Edited to add: the most recent event we attended was NOT busy, the stands were 30% full, so it was poor planning, not a...
Read moreNever been to this Fair and never will I go again. Trying to even get to this Fair itself was the biggest pain in the butt EVER!!!!, It was seriously a cluster F once you started driving close to it. No one directing traffic off the highways, lines of cars cutting in front of others and then some, no southern hospitality whatsoever, parking wasn't bad once you made it in, IF you made it in, I know people was in traffic for a long long time. BUT the kids at this Fair was horrible, terrible, nasty mouths, rude and no respect for others around them. I heard kids that I know was in elementary/Jr high cussing like sailors talking dirty to each other, running around like wild child's. It was rather disturbing. This experience was one for the books and not in a good way at all. The only good thing...
