Haven’t been to the boys ranch in a few years and now I remember why. Today I went in not only to shop for myself, but to shop for a carnival I am hosting at my restaraunt to raise money for needy children. Here’s how my experience went today. Approximately 6:15pm the workers start to announce that they will be closing at 7pm and you are to make your final selections and head up front to pay. Okay,45 minutes no problem I can handle that. Well at least every 5 if not 10 minutes going forward you hear this same message only getting more and more demanding that you are to get up front immediately. Couple minutes to 7 I reach the checkout with my son and 2 carts full of items to purchase. As I was pulling things out of my cart I mentioned that I needed to make sure I was getting all books(as I had a lot, paid for 39 to be exact), the manager (if that’s what you would call her) rudely says that I should’ve done that 5 minutes ago. Okay, I can handle that remark(Iguess). Also I hear her telling the cashier that she doesn’t have to put items in neatly, basically telling her to throw stuff in bag to get us out. I have 2 orders(as one is for work), can just feel the eye roll. The tension that was there was horrible, she tells employee at till to shut off radio we are closed, yells at her for putting items in a box rather than bag because she needs to learn to start putting things in bags— hey if you ask me I’d prefer the box for convenience and also safer for environment. But what do I know I’m just a customer who spent over $250.00 at your atore in less than an hour. Isn’t that great for the children that your company claims this money is here for. I almost walked out by the way she was acting, but the cashier was so sweet and had wonderful customer service that that right there made me stay and make my purchase. I do not plan on shopping here anymore. Also my receipt says the time is 6:57pm so it is not my fault your business sets your clocks ahead to bar times just to get out. Customers can make or break your business and poor management like that will definitely push customers away!!! Total between two purchases was over $250. Imagine if I would’ve left, that’s a lot of money to lose over a rude employee. I would not tolerate that from any of my employees and that is why I will take my business elsewhere going...
Read morereview with a heavy heart as a once-loyal customer. The store that I once admired for its selection and pricing has unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. The selection has significantly dwindled, and the pricing strategy leaves much to be desired.
The prices, particularly for used clothing, shoes, and toys, are astonishingly high - often more than what one would pay for new items. This pricing strategy not only discourages customers but also leads to unsold inventory sitting on the shelves for months.
Furthermore, the behavior of the staff, especially those in the back office, is concerning. It seems they lack the necessary training to perform their duties effectively and professionally. This has led me to question the integrity of the pricing process and whether items are being marked up excessively.
I strongly believe that this store is in dire need of a management overhaul. The current state of affairs suggests a lack of business acumen, product/market knowledge, and empathy towards customers. It’s disheartening to see so many customers leave the store empty-handed or exit prematurely due to these issues.
I urge the management to take immediate action to rectify these problems. This includes reevaluating the pricing strategy, improving the selection, and investing in staff training. If these issues persist, I fear the store may risk closure.
I hope my feedback is taken seriously and leads to necessary changes. As a customer, all we ask for is a fair, satisfying, and enjoyable shopping experience. Thank you for taking the time to...
Read moreI do almost all my thrift store shopping at the Moorhead location and I drop off all my donated items here. However, when I stopped by today with a lamp, a pillow and 2 shirts to donate, the lady outside was very rude to me. There was a 30 foot Dakota Boys Ranch truck packed floor to ceiling with boxes to donate and a pick up truck that had also pulled up to unload. She shooed me away and said I’d have to wait in line even though I told her there were only 4 items. She was very snotty and insisted I wait as it was “their new policy”. Why in the world would anyone wait at least a half hour or more for a huge truck AND a pickup to unload first, especially for only 4 items?? Not to mention her bad attitude and NO ONE was wearing masks?? She could’ve had me set the items aside and gotten them herself. I will no longer donate to them...
