So the place is very decent. I would go here again. The pool is really nice, the room was comfortable and clean. The room didn't have that musty hotel room that musty people stay in smell. You know the one I'm talking about. I like the private entrances, but the door felt kind of insecure and the multiple locks didn't make me feel better. The hotel people were nice, their service was ok. We didn't use the continental breakfast because it ended too early. I might have given them a a 3 or 4 star rating but they canceled my reservation without notifying me. I use an empty debit card to make hotel reservations because I loath shenanigans when it comes to my money and someone is always trying it. The standard process for this chain is to take your card number for the reservation and charge nothing until you check in. That way you can flex the res, or change the payment method at the time of service which I always do. That's pretty standard at most hotels and inns at this price point. Evidently, This location likes to run your card a week before check in on big travel holiday weekends, ok fine, but they never notified me of the change process. You can't change a process and attempt to take hundreds of dollars out of someone's account without letting them know in advance. See. Shenanigans. So happy I used my empty debit card, I don't have it like that where I can just hand over hundreds unexpectedly, I need to plan! So, as intended, the card declined. I traveled through 3 states and arrived to check in to discover they had canceled my reservation. I asked if it was normal policy to cancel a reservation and NOT send a notification of ANY kind to the customer. It was explained to me that it was up to the manager's discretion to send out notifications of cancellations, meaning they could choose not to. I was outdone. Can you imagine being so far from home and finding that you didn't have lodging as expected on a weekend where everything is typically booked a month in advance? Woo, I felt the heat rising. Fortunately, they were able to "reinstate the reservation" so we had a place to stay, and is the only reason I didn't give them a one star review. I don't like my money or my sense of security being toyed with. I was told I could call the manager if I would like to complain, but I really feel like notifying people of an early debit of their money, and notification of cancellations are no brainers, I don't have time to tell this fool how to be a decent hotel manager. I will just tell you that you need to be cognizant and careful when making your reservations here. Otherwise, it's a nice...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights, as family were also staying there. My in-laws had asked for a walk-in shower. No luck. Another family member had a gap at the bottom of her door & the manager wouldn't move her, she put a towel down to block it. The room next to us had small kids who kept banging on our wall & they played loud bass music, constantly. The kids around 4 or 5, were outside late, yelling & bouncing plastic balls on the concrete right outside our door. We asked the manager to speak with them. He did, it stopped briefly then the bass crept up. The night manager said he couldn't do anything until 11pm. Room was dated, uneven patchy wall finish. Our TV kept resetting, so we kept calling the manager. The bath towels were not much bigger than our home hand towels. When we asked the cleaning lady for more, she offered us 1, there were 4 of us in our room. Heating/cooling in the room was crap. Too hot/too cold at night. We drove all night 13 hours, we arrived at 9.10am. I asked if we could get early occupancy, as we were tired & the hotel wasn't busy. He said there was a $45 charge. He then agreed on just $20. I asked if we could get any breakfast that was left. He said no it's 6am to 9am. Next morning the options for breakfast were corn flakes/cheerios/toast/waffles/yoghurt/ choc/chip muffins/watered down juices & weak coffee. $220 for 2 nights this was not a...
Read moreI stay in Choice Hotels all the time. What makes this location stand out above all the others is the friendliness of the staff and management and the cleanliness of the Hotel. The woman who works the front desk in the day time, Krishna, is so friendly and she always recognizes me. That makes me feel good when i go to a hotel and the staff remember me. Krishna is always so nice to me. There are plenty of hotel's that I have been to, especially recently, that the staff is not personable at all... They won't look at you when they are speaking to you. They don't recognize someone that frequents their hotel. I want to also say that in most of the hotels the cleaning staff aren't friendly at all. They just want you to hurry and check out so they can clean your room and get off earlier. That is not the case at the Quality Inn near Six Flags in Douglasville, Ga. The man that o always see that is part of the cleaning staff, he is so friendly and always asks how I am doing. He always smiles and waves. I just really enjoy staying in this hotel. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. This is my favorite hotel to stay in when i am...
