ALDI — Local services in Downey

Sad to say I definitely won't come here anymore, I know they don't care, but heads up to online pick up orders, skip it and do Amazon fresh or some other location. This weekend my brother in law got shot ontop of me having to work 14hr shifts at work I've been having to help take care of him, and out of I guess laziness and exhaustion from this week I thought hey let me go on instacart and order up and when it's ready I'll go get everything cook dinner and we'll have food for the next few weeks. Oh boy I wish I would've just gone down the street to my local market instead and saved myself the trouble. They let me know 20 mins after I placed my order at 4pm, that my 5-6pm pickup would be delayed. No worries. Waited till 615ish, figured they were short staffed or busy and changed my pickup to 7-8pm to give them more time since it was a large order. It's now 830, not only has no one reached out to me, but there's no way even if they did finish up at this moment I could make it in time before they close, so now im out a good amount of cash till my bank clears the refund and have to spend extra money on food from somewhere else in the meantime. I appreciate the convenience and added safety of being able to do an online order pickup, but I would have really appreciated and continued to shop at Aldi if they would have canceled my order or reached out and rescheduled or told me anything at all in those 4hrs I sat...

Worst customer service ever. I went today around 11:30 a.m and the cashier was extremely rude. Me and my mom were waiting in the cashier line and were putting our items on the conveyor belt and for some reason the belt kept going and didn’t stop so the cashier had to put his hands to stop the items from going beyond the checkout and he looked back at us and made an angry and annoyed face at us. After he scanned all of our items, he gave us the total my mom took out her cash and gave it over and then started counting her loose change to finish paying off the total. He then start shaking his hands at her like he was frustrated and wanted her to hurry up to pay. He kept shaking his hands at her so my mom said give me minute while I get the change and he just looked away and kept looking back at the line desperately. Btw there was only two more people behind us.

Produce looks a little sad. But it's probably fine to eat. I wasn't there for produce, tho. I found what I was looking for...cheese fondue from Switzerland and a boneless, low fat piece of a ham (I didn't want a half ham). I also found a good choice of cheeses and interesting cracker choices to go with them at very reasonable prices instead of the inflated prices in some of the upscale markets. Their candies were a disappointment to me since most of them had hazelnuts and I am allergic to them. I still found $80 worth of food to try at home, being so bored about staying at home due to co-vid19. The store was clean and staff was helpful. It was not crowded at all--good for us patrons in this particular time, but I wonder how long they will last against the big...
