In-N-Out Burger — Restaurant in Downey

In-N-Out Burger was busy when I arrived with two hungry boys 13 and 15. We went here because a gift card with $20 was to be used for lunch. The gift card was enough for 2 double-doubles p, 2 shakes, 2 fries and a burger to go. So, i had to buy my own lunch. I had ordered a cheeseburger with extra onions and no lettuce. It was on the receipt but the special instructions were disregarded and when i asked for a burger, the way i asked for it, i received a cold burger. I then alerted the manager on duty and then received a burger the way i ordered it...it was not hot, or fresh, it was dry and warm, the burger, even chewy., the other ingredients were fresh. The fries were fresh and I requested 2 cups of fresh coffee with creamer. The order taker looked at me like i had asked for a piece of cheese from the moon. I know what good food is and what it should taste like and i read that since 1948, IN-N-OUT is all about the quality of the beef (not frozen)..ok...but non-juicy, chewy burgers are un-appetizing as well. The management relayed apologies. Wendy's has the In-N-Out burgers beat. I won't be going back to this location any time soon..no care about the quality of food served will have a business going out of...

Perhaps this is one of the worst In-N-Out locations that I have been to. I was at this location on August 17, 2023, around midnight. The place was extremely filthy. I have to ask an employee to clean my table because the tables looked like they were sitting in the middle of an alley in South Central. The tables were very dirty, the trash cans were completely full when I arrived and they were full when I left, there was trash by the lemonade dispenser, the lemon container was empty and the lemonade was pure color water. There was more trash by the ketchup and napkins stand. I told the manager about the lemonade, and she said that it was pre-made and that she couldn't do anything about it to make it taste better. What I have noticed is that any In-N-Out located in the ghetto for some reason, the lemonade they offer is always water down. I have been to many, many locations, and only in the locations in the ghetto the lemonade is just color water. I feel that In-N-Out headquarters should do a better job to train their management team; at least on basic business common sense such as keeping a food establishment clean, which should be essential. Very pathetic way to run a business. I am very disappointed, I am not...

Great place to eat.

The parking is sometimes tricky because of the drive through line being so long. This is a good sign that people love this place. Patience is required to sometimes find parking.

The drive through is probably the best because there's usually someone outside taking orders so you can hear them and you know they hear you too.

I usually order double double with whole grilled onion. Great tasting burger at a good price. The beef patty is tasty with fresh lettuce, tomatoes and sauce. The fries are usually fresh because you can see the workers cleaning and cutting them in the back. Every few times, I do get some fries that's been cooked in old oil but it doesn't happen often so I'm good. I love the milk shake, it's awesome. Taste like real ice cream :)

I read a review about Wendy's being better than In N Out. If you can't tell the difference in quality of the two, I don't think it will matter where you go.
