I have gone to the Regal in Downingtown since they built it and I've had some issues over the years but for the most part I would give it At LEAST 4 stars normally but I hated it this last time. We went to a late showing of Insidious: Chapter 3 and because it was the last showing NO ONE was around but there were plenty of people in the theatre with us talking, making owl noises among other noises laughing and when another person laughed they all got louder with all the noises not just the laughing the entire time. They were Making fun of parts of the movie that weren't scary parts. They made it impossible to get into the movie which in turn made it impossible to enjoy the movie. I even got my phone out texted my friend and asked him to call the movie theatre and let them know what was going on in theatre 16 and he called at least three times and no one picked up. I know what time the movie theatre closes BUT I find it really hard to believe that not a single soul that works there doesn't stay until all the movies have ended. Someone has to be there other wise who would close down the building after everyone has left. Since then (which was last weekend, the weekend it came out) I have left messages for the managers and have not gotten a single call back. I want to be reimbursed for the 30 something dollars I spent or at the very least given free tickets to see a different movie in the future. I love this movie theatre I always have and my main issue was the inconsiderate people behind us (more then one group talking too it wasn't just a few people it literally was half of the people who were in that particular theatre at that time and they didn't come together either) but I don't accept that no one is there to regulate problems like that after a certain time and I don't accept that I haven't heard back from anyone about...
Read moreA very nice to see cinema theatres are coming back after COVID , I thoroughly enjoyed the reclining seats with nice people. Theatre itself is clean , short staffed (Saturday evening prime show - the box office is closed and tickets are given at concession), still very quick , concession stand had a more than couple of staffs to handle. Since many of them might took tickets in online /mobile app, there were not crowd (usual) seen on concession area. You can directly order your snacks in mobile and pick up in stand. Mask is not mandatory for vaccinated , so 80 percent of the people did not masked??. We went to Shang-Chi movie and theatre was 50 percent occupied. There were no social distanced seating, consider this while reserving the seat. Rest rooms , hallway , walkway , etc are clean and maintained. Ample parking space even if all screens are full. Staffs are attentive and welcoming. Sad to see that box office is managed by concession stand and hope to see crowds back in theatre. The screens are various sized, we were on screen 4 and last row(I ). Felt my seat (I-10) was too far away from the screen and screen size is moderate (not big screen). Convenience box ( for getting a quick Advil etc ) , baby changing stations are there in restrooms(men’s). Well decorated interiors and certainly will recommend to come back on theatres( except there is no strict policy of...
Read moreWhile the seats are indeed lovely, this place is, as most stadium theaters are, crazy expensive. Two mid-day senior tickets, a large popcorn, a small popcorn, a large soda, and a box of Raisinettes came to $50!! I don't know how families can afford to take their kids.
To top it off, the staff was abrupt, and lacking in simple knowledge. The counter person didn't hear an item in my order, so, when I repeated it louder she replied she just didn't hear me and that I didn't need to get an attitude. Then she didn't recognize my electronic gift card as such, and thought I handed her my rewards card receipt, so she kept looking at me, until I pointed to the gift card.
When we couldn't find our theater, which we knew was #12, we asked a staff member for help. She said she didn't know, and would need to see our tickets. All of a sudden she magically knew, and told us it was down at the end of the hallway, and was the one where the lights were out on the sign. At the end of the hallway was #11, so we asked her again. She replied, "You passed it. I TOLD you it was the one with the lights out. It's right there."
To make things even worse, there were two empty napkin dispensers that were open, and both were absolutely filthy inside.
We will...
