Downingtown Country Club — Restaurant in East Caln Township

We truly could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding reception. From the very beginning, Terri and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. Terri was such a joy to work with — always responsive, easy to get ahold of, and genuinely invested in making our day everything we had dreamed of. She listened to all our ideas and helped us bring every little detail to life.

On the day of the wedding, the entire staff went above and beyond. Every single person was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed — from food and drinks to little check-ins to make sure we were doing okay. One moment that really stood out was when we were out on the golf cart, and they actually brought us water and snacks — such a thoughtful touch that meant so much to us in the middle of a busy day.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, both inside and out. We kept our decorations minimal because the space truly doesn’t need much — it speaks for itself. One of the best parts was being able to drop off our decor the night before, and showing up on the day to find everything perfectly set up. No stress, just pure excitement. We even got a private moment to see the reception space before our guests arrived, which was incredibly special.

And the food… WOW. Every single item we served was amazing — no exaggeration. There wasn’t one thing that didn’t taste incredible. Our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food tasted. And honestly, those are the two biggest things people remember — and both were absolutely perfect.

We can’t say enough good things about the staff, the service, and the overall experience. We wouldn’t change a single thing. It was the most perfect day, and it truly wouldn’t have been the same without the incredible team at this venue. For Terri/Kristie: Where do we even begin!? Terri was amazing from the moment we met in 2021 leading up to our wedding in October 2023! She was so informative, always there for any questions/concerns we may have had and always made us feel like the most important couple! She’s extraordinary at her job which made our wedding day run so smoothly! I didn’t have anything to worry about the day which I loved! I was assigned a day of concierge named Kristie who helped me with anything I needed, she drove the golf cart for us to our photo spots, kept me calm before my first look and made me feel at ease with everything going on that day. She also stayed with us up until we left the venue and gathered all our things we might have left behind! The Venue: From the moment we talked with Terri and she gave us a tour we knew this was where we wanted our wedding. We looked at a couple of other venues before coming to Downingtown Country Club and none of them compared. The atmosphere, the staff and the surroundings were just a few of the reasons why we loved this place so much. We loved that there was a backup plan in case of rain, but thankfully we didn’t need! This is a Ron Jaworski golf course. Jaworski is a local treasure, and for good reason. He's a good person. He's a good analyst, with a Sports IQ second to none. He's built an ample collection of good to great golf courses.

I'm certain that Jaws would agree with my assessment of Downingtown Country Club.

This is not a country club, in the strictest sense, but why quibble? Ron gets a pass here, because he bought a country club and retained the exact name. No problem there.

The facilities get a solid "A." Jaworski makes great anything he can control, and that's a sincere compliment. The people and the facilities reflect the man himself. Everyone is so NICE. Many golf clubs have staff that display a smug and entitled aura. It's a major turn-off. Downingtown is a "feel-good" place.

The golf course "IS WHAT IT IS." That will be wrongly viewed as snarky. It isn't. Jaws would need a few million bucks to make ut great. It's not cost-effective. Too many other choices in the area.

The course itself is GOOD. Ron would agree. He chose a great location. He put money into everything but what he can't control. The course's design is vaguely unremarkable. No amateur with a handicap north of 15 would even notice that.

The 12th hole is a Par 3 that stands out. Every golfer who visits looks out on the 12th. Beyond the 12th, design quality falls from there.
