So the other night, we needed heavy cream to make our mac and cheese. Well, the dairy section had none at all. I went up front to ask this lady who is a manager and an employee as they were chit-chatting. I said nicely, "Hi, I need heavy cream, and the shelves are empty. Can someone look for me?" She said, "Whatās there is there," and the other guy went, "Yeah," in a rude way. So I went back to tell Evan, and he said, "Whatās there is there?" As we saw heavy cream in the back through the glass doors. So I went back up and asked an employee at self-checkout for help because I didnāt want to deal with their attitudes. Well, she said she could help because she could leave self-checkout, which is fine, but she could have asked someone else to help me. Instead, I had to go back up to the other rude lady and guy and said, "Hi, you said whatās there is there, but I see the heavy cream in the back through the door." Then I asked for someone to help. They just stood there like idiots saying nothing, and I said, "Or Iām gonna walk back there and grab it myself." She snapped, "Nope, you canāt do that." I replied, "Then have someone help me because I need that item. Iāll be waiting." I walked back, and the guy who helped was nice and apologized. But as I went to checkout, the manager was staring at us, giving us this rude smile or smirk. I was offended and felt completely wronged, so I asked the lady at self-checkout, who I thought was a friend, if she was a manager. She said yes, and I asked, "Can I please have her name?" She totally looked past me and just ignored me. Then I asked the other guy next to her, who was already rude, whatās her name. He stood there and did the same thing and ignored me like I wasnāt standing there asking them a question. I said loudly, "So yāall are just gonna ignore me?" No answer. I bought my stuff and left. Iām waiting to hear back from the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIts probably the best food store in Pennsylvania but the prices are high it's very expensive the premade meals / bakery / ready made meals are good but don't expect to walk out of the food store without spending $100 or more the people are the reason I gave it a 4 rating the people are rude like some ppl will crash into your cart they are going so fast and are in a rush , other people are walking so slow that you can't get around them it's like your in Disney World if Disney World were a food store, it has that amount of people in the store at any time of the day it's always busy / packed here the people in the parking lot are also in a race to get out of the food store so they will almost crash into your car on the way out but the roasted chicken is good , the truffle mushroom pasta is good , the soft baked chocolate chip cookies are good , the variety of beer is good but the people who work near the alcohol run away when they see someone with beer they pretend to stock more beer even though they even have beer on the floor it's overstocked, I don't think people getting food should be allowed in the alcohol buying lanes because when I want alcohol I don't want to wait behind someone buying $250 worth of groceries plus beer when all I have is beer so yeah the alcohol lines should be for alcohol only or someone should let you pay for the beer in the alcohol area instead of the employees stocking beers that are already stocked enough instead the alcohol lanes are full of people with carts full of food it's just not an efficient way of checking ppl out if I want beer / wine I go someone else because I don't like waiting in the lines and use self check out for the food it's quicker if not you'll be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to work at Wegmans, so I have realistic expectations, BUT I've been regularly disappointed at the attitude and lack of caring by some workers at this Downingtown location. I was just there trying to buy a loaf of specialty bread in their bakery area. It was before 7pm, and I asked the three females who were just standing around inside the bakery area, to put this loaf of bread through their slicer. They said that the slicer was closed for the evening. Upon questioning, they said that they didn't want to do the slicing because then they might have to take a minute to wipe the machine again. So I asked another worker (a male) who was just standing nearby, about that issue, and he blankly stared at me and then said that he was part of the janitorial crew so he didn't know anything. So I put the bread back where I found it, and left the store and went to a different brand grocery store to get the things on my list. What I experienced at Wegmans was what I would expect from a lesser store, and is certainly not what I was taught about how to deal with paying customers back when I worked at Wegmans. Just because young workers can act like they don't care, and just because they can get away with having lousy customer service, doesn't mean that they should. The Wegmans I worked at many years ago would never have tolerated such lousy workers. Maybe now they can't get good workers so they just allow it to happen. And by the way, I have done a lot of Google Reviews, and most are 5-stars. I rarely give poor ratings unless it's warranted. In this case,...
