I have had decent experience of this store until yesterday. Couple of days back had picked up a Speedo swimming trunk which did not have a price tag on it. So asked a store associate to check the price. He checked the item label# from the trunks back in his inventory machine and told me its was a discounted item for $13 something. I took it to bill along with some other item and the associate at billing register sent another colleague of his to pick similar item from the aisle to get the price. That associate came back with a price of $34 something. I was surprised and told him that earlier associate had given me the price as $13.. still I paid for the item around $34 and came home. After trying it out it didn't fit and so went back yday to return it. The register associate and her senior weren't able to match the item from the bill to the label on the trunk and refused to accept it as a return claiming that item being returned was not on the bill. Apparently the price of the swimming trunk I had purchased was $13 something only but I was charged almost thrice the price and now was not being allowed to return it. I stood my ground and asked the senior(or manager?) What he wanted me to do. He initially refused to accept my return giving me the reason that he can't do anything about it and I had accepted to pay $34 for the item and so I should keep it and instead take this up with Visa to cancel it from my credit card. I was shocked by this response!! The actual register associate who had billed me when I purchased the item was around and he was consulted. Read moreI am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding an incident that occurred at your East Hanover location on 7/27/2025 , around 6:00 PM. I had come in with my children to test the SIM2 driver and was assisted—or rather, dismissed—by a male associate with blonde hair. His conduct was entirely unacceptable.
Despite arriving with ample time before closing, I was denied even 10 minutes to try the driver. The associate’s tone and attitude were not only unprofessional and unaccommodating, but also alarmingly inappropriate. Both I and my daughters perceived his demeanor as discriminatory and racially charged, especially in the manner he addressed and dismissed us. It is deeply troubling when children are made to feel uncomfortable or marginalized in a retail setting that should be welcoming to all.
This is not the standard of customer service one should expect from a national brand like Dick’s Sporting Goods, particularly when shopping for high-value equipment. I urge your management team to investigate this matter seriously. The behavior demonstrated by this employee reflects poorly on your company and raises broader concerns about the environment at this location.

I had bought them the day before and had the receipt with me. They wouldn't accept the return even though I was going to buy another pair of a different brand for the same price. The manager Kat came over and looked at the sneakers and laughed in my face saying, " you didn't just get these sneakers yesterday. They are too worn down." I told her that is exactly why I was returning them. I told her I had the receipt and she refused to even look at it and kept looking at the sneakers in disbelief that they were only a day old. She said she can't accept the return because they couldn't resell them. I said they shouldn't resell them, they weren't made very well. She kept sneering at me and telling me these sneakers were older than one day while refusing to look at the receipt.
