"I am amazed with the experience that I went through at Lancaster Nissan!" My sales associate was initiated with DJ... First of all, I will tell you as an executive for a fortune 500 company that hires thousands of sales associates regularly, I wish I could hire more sales associates like DJ and his team mate Derek M. Each time in the past when I was making a automobile purchase, I've found myself regretting the upcoming pressure sales techniques that come with the new car buying experience... This was not the case this time around! The 1.5hr trip was well worth it!... When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted WITH a smile by DJ! I explained to him that I was looking to buy a new car for my mother and I was interested in a 2018 Altima that was advertised on the internet at an unbelievable price. He showed me the different colors that matched the description and answered all my questions. I asked some questions that he didnt know the answers to right away and proceeded to find the answer to my question. Yes, I get it, this is their job... What made the experience even better, was that he was patient with me. I was all over the place, looking at different models, colors, thinking out loud etc...DJ stuck with me, not so engulfed with whether he was losing a potential sale with other customers visiting the dealership, but he still gave me the distance I needed to make the experience less stressful and less pressured... I told him straight out, "im CONSIDERING a 2018 Altima or a Subaru Impreza", and he still stuck by my side...allowing me to make the decision whether the Nissan is what I wanted or should I visit Subaru first... Later the next day, it was time to bring my mother to the two dealerships to make a purchase decision. I called ahead to make sure the car was still available and to make sure DJ was working...Unfortunately DJ was done work prior to my planned visit. Never the less, DJ was more concerned that I get the car that I wanted before someone else buys it, so he made it a point to reach out to one of his peers and give him a heads up to my arrival...yes i get it, this is what a sales associate should be doing... When I arrived, I was greeted by Derek, with a big smile and a warm hand shake. Derek was FULLY aware of my situation and needs, and he assured me that his "Partner/Team Mate" DJ would get full credit for the sale...I get it, this is what sales associates are suppose to do...
Here is where it gets amazing...Even though Derek wouldn't be getting credit for the sale, he took the time (a lot of time) to show me other cars, answer more difficult questions while potentially losing out on any walk in sales! My mother and I had Derek's FULL attention for the next 2.5 hours of looking at different colors, answering our questions, giving us his recommendations and here's the kicker; "Derek found MORE discounts for our purchase!" The internet pricing was already INCREDIBLE, after all that's what made me drive 1.5 hrs to begin with, but never in my entire automobile purchasing experience history did I EVER have a sales associate go out of their way to potentially find me a better deal than their bottom line price!!! That's true commitment to the customer! Usually its the other way around, the dealership is usually looking for the MOST money and the sales associates are looking for a higher commissions!!!...
Yes, the sales experience was predominately industry standard, but the extra mile they went to ensure the absolute best pricing and best customer service is what made my decision easier and a no brainer! I didn't even bother showing my mother the Subaru!...
For anyone taking the time to read this review, I am not affiliated with this org, nor did I know anyone from this dealership prior to my initial visit. What I will share with you as a well experienced automobile purchaser, stop in to Lancaster Nissan, you will see and feel the difference! Its worth the trip! Really it is!
Don't forget to ask for DJ & Derek, two real nice guys that look after...
Read moreHorrible service. Don't waste your time at Lancaster Nissan, or even the Toyota dealer next door. It is all the same owner.
Took my car in to have the alternator changed. I received the car back and the A/C was broken. Now, in full disclosure, the A/C was cold, yet not as cold as I thought it should be. It sill worked and kept me cool for the last 3 weeks (since it had been a hot early spring). The A/C was still cold and since the car is 9 years old (2007) it probably just needed a charge.
I picked up the car and immediately found the A/C broken. I went straight back inside and told the service guy it was broken. He said they found the A/C system had a low charge when they received the car and they filled it back up for me. That's great except the A/C now doesn't work. I also did not receive a phone call or any notification about the low charge before the took apart the A/C system to install a new alternator. Now the A/C system won't even hold a charge.
The bottom line here is that the A/C worked before I took it to them and now it doesn't. I took the issue up to each level of management and was even told the owner was consulted. The end conclusion is they are not responsible.
They admitted that they took apart the A/C system and that removing the lines could have caused the leak. Their reasoning is that the car is 10 years old and those lines can go bad so it isn't their responsibility. I was also told that they spoke with the other shop that worked on my car....funny since I never told them and there is no possible way they could find this out.
Horrible customer service. If you work on a customer's car and return it broken, you're responsible for the repairs. They wanted to charge me $600 to repair the A/C that they broke. Yes, they waived the diagnostic fee to find the problem that they caused yet won't fix it.
I don't recommend this business to anyone. They have no respect for your vehicle and take zero responsibility. Move along to another dealer in the area.
Response to response: 1.) Yes, let's shame another garage that you know nothing about and claim the "high horse" because you're a dealer. The only reason I took it to you was because I read Nissans don't like aftermarket alts and you gave a parts and labor warranty. It has nothing to do with the performance of the other shop.
2.) Yes, I turned down the diagnostic of $112 dollars because the A/C was still WORKING. It was simply a little less cold, however, it still held a charge and blew cold air for the three weeks prior to Nissan working on my car. It is also poor decision making to not inform the customer that you will be working on a system they expressed concerns with. I wonder if I asked for an oil change and you noticed an oil leak...would you tell me or let my car leak oil? Then when it breaks you get to charge me more $$. Funny that you didn't even check the A/C before working on the car.
3.) Strange, every other garage that I've used has always called me to inform me of other issues they notice with my car whether it has to do with the work they are doing or not. ESPECIALLY if they have to touch the system. If I would have received a phone call stating that you found low refrigerant or noticed another issue with the A/C PRIOR to taking it apart, there wouldn't be an issue. Regarding my previous knowledge of how to remove the Alternator, one doesn't need to touch the A/C system. It is quite skeptical that I express concerns and then suddenly it is completely broken with another $600 charge.
Honestly, if they would have given me a call and said it had low charge or noticed the hoses were in poor shape, I would have said let's replace then while you're their and gladly paid for it. Nope, I'm sure they knew they could reassemble it and then charge me a second time for labor they had just done. Any quality garage with honest people would would make this right since their cost would be very minimal. I'd imagine, whether they think they are in wrong or not, something this small would avoid...
