S. Clyde Weaver was and always will be a great place for meats, deli, cheeses, subs and more. Their cute little cafe, however, has undergone significant changes post COVID. I was disappointed by their orders ie: very limited fast food style breakfast & lunch entrees served in plastic trays. Hot food wasn’t hot. Sides were mediocre, packaging pretends global warming isn’t a thing. Wawa or Panera does a better job any day, which makes me sad to say. One could also simply buy a container of their delicious chicken salad, for example & a box of crackers and have a better meal. They have always been known for a great tea & coffee selection. They no longer brew loose leaf tea but have just two bagged tea selections? English breakfast & decaf. ?? Hopefully, they’ll bounce back and bring back their amazing prepared foods case where they could reheat any of the tasty offerings there. The retail store remains a tried & true foodie destination & worth the trip, just not for dine in...
Read moreThe Weaver's in East Pete has been my local go to spot for lunch meat and some of the best cheese in the area. A downside I came across today was there are only two wheelchair accessible parking spaces in the whole parking lot and they're always taken, it's important if you have a ramp to drive a wheelchair out of the side of your van. The other trend I'm seeing at this Weaver's and other stores, *ahem Lititz Pike, is they get ready to close 45 minutes before closing time then glare at you and hover over your cafe table until you get tired of it and leave. Even making a purchase 30 minutes before closing they have to uncover the deli meat to serve you, and do you think they are all smiles?! Nope. I'm just trying to get a cheeseball and a Sloppy Clyde not feel like public enemy #1. S. Clyde your lettin' me down, I thought we were fam...they only get 3 stars cause the manager had to remake my Sloppy Clyde cause they microwaved the moisture out of the first one...better luck...
Read moreI loved the personal service. Everything was exactly as you wanted. After I lost my parents, I wasn’t going home often but when I would go home, you could be sure I’d be stocking up to take my goodies home to Long Island. After missing a few years, it was time to go home for a reunion. I wanted to arrange breakfast as Weavers. Grilled sticky buns and coffee!!! It was not to be. That was what made going out for breakfast a treat. No grilled sticky buns. I left. I went back later in the day for my treats to bring home and so much was pre-packaged. I will order my bologna and other treats for Christmas gifts, but it’s just lost some of its charm. Of course I’ll be ordering my holiday ham, and will still tell people how great the food is, but I just miss some of those...
