TERRIBLE SCHOOL , AVOID IT! I’ve been attending YTI since June of 2017 and my experience HAS NOT BEEN WORTH IT! First off the computers in the school barley work most of them don’t even have the correct software installed. It’s 2018 and we’re working on PowerPoint 2013, Word 2013 etc. The WiFi is also very terrible it takes almost 20-25 minuets to even load and log into portal. Second, the teachers here all gossip among the students especially ones who aren’t as “proficient” as they call it. Don’t get me wrong there are SOME teachers who are very respectful and they do their job as instructors to teach and deliver but overal it’s very poor! Third, . The price is WAY TO HIGH even with the help of financial assistance. The people from financial aid aren’t as helpful either! They loose paperwork and are very unorganized then put the blame on us students saying “we failed to deliver”. Fourth, Our uniforms came FOUR MONTHS LATE! That’s an entire term with no uniform, along with the proper equipment for our iPads! the school is basically broke, the hand sanitizer machines don’t even work, we no longer have printers to print out school work on, The food and snacks available for the students to buy is also WAY TOO EXPENSIVE Lastly, the entire school is advertised as “Hands On” .. Im currently on my 4rth term in the program “Crimanl Justice and Forst a response” and I have yet not done anything hands on. In several clases we’ve participated doing hands on activities maybe ... 4 times max. So overall I’ve done 10 hands on activities while attending the school. Students are supposed to be inspected and told if wearing proper uniform, in which WE DO NOT DO! How can us students be good at our chosen program if there isn’t consistency going on? How are we supposed to even know what to do if we aren’t being taught? I’m honestly disappointed with this school and fully regret even coming here! I DO NOT...
Read moreI graduated from this school. Sadly I wouldn't recommend it. The school is very over priced and the education is very poor. We had days of class to which no instructor showed up. Yes!! very true. My class was all in agreement that we were paying just to teach ourselves. There was no challenge with the education and the staff had a mix of instructors that were decent, which I felt sorry for them as they tried to teach us things that we should have learned in classes before we got to them. (Very frustrating) None of the decent instructors stayed long at this school and it was obvious as to why. And mostly ones that had no credentials to even teach certain courses, continued to stay on, which why obvious why they are still there. Half the staff was there one week and not the next due to poor management.(school didn't want to pay them) So if you were having a problem, you'd have wait until the following week until that instructor or staff member would be in. It was very frustrating. I still have yet to find a job in my field and so I got employment elsewhere.( YTI WILL NOT help you get a job, or even help you find one) Although I had read reviews elsewhere I went to this school anyhow. Needless to say I should have listened. Be smart about your education and seek a better school. Don't avoid the reviews or you'll be sorry as I am. Ask yourself how can so many people be wrong? That's cause they are correct! They say anything to get you in at YTI then...
Read moreI was very hesitant about choosing YTI, but I chose them for their online medical coding and billing course. I can now see why YTI has the worst reviews. Coursework is all over the place, teachers feel they are the only ones you have so work is just piled on like you have no other classes, or work for a living or have a family to care for. One teacher that taught multiple classes would either not respond to my emails or when she did it had nothing to do with what I was saying. I ended up realizing that chapter quizzes, midterms and finals were marking questions wrong that were right and had to end up taking time to go back and check every test I took and then email my advisor and she would change my grades appropriately. They also slide a career development course in on you and it's things like creating an interview collage of outfits, elevator pitches and a mock interview. While this may be great for someone just starting out in the working life, I'm almost 40 years old and I do not have time for stuff like that, this isn't my first rodeo. There is also no recognition for students who do well. I'm also enrolled in a separate college for Medical Assistance and already have been named to the Deans list and nominated and became a member of Delta Epilson Tau. While I will continue to finish with YTI, I cannot wait to be done with this school and would NOT recommend...
