Until this week, I had never even heard of Hempfield Technology. When I saw it come up as a partner on manufacturer's website I actually though it may be the IT department for the local school district, but I was pleasantly surprised to find I was wrong. Needing to replace a router/firewall for our small church in a hurry, I was even more surprised to find they had the model I wanted in stock and I could pick one up the same day. Alex fully disclosed their value-add charge on top of MSRP, which basically equated to what I would've paid in expediting the order and paying for faster shipping from the manufacturer (which still wouldn't have guaranteed me delivery the next day). He made it all very easy by sending me a quote and then an online invoice to pay; he even accepted the church's tax exempt form quickly and easily. It took two phone calls and three emails and a couple hours later I was at their office to pick up the new router. Read moreMy computer wouldn't boot past black screen of death. After reformatting and reinstalling Win 10, I took my tower on a Monday to Alex at Hempfield Tech. They said they would call me after a business day to give me a free estimate on repairs before doing any of the work.
I'm already impressed: who gives free estimates anymore? But early Wednesday I got the call saying that when I had reinstalled Win, I set it up as an Admin. Now I was trying to access it as a non-Admin during boot sequence. After Alex used a Win-based tool on it, I went over that same afternoon to pick up my now-perfectly running babykins.
Cost? Alex refused to take a cent. According to him, no billable work was done!!!!!!!!!!!

Read moreHempfield Tech is the best! No need to look elsewhere. After building a new PC and it working for two days, it wouldn’t turn on. I randomly called Hempfield Tech as they were close. They mostly cover businesses but offer drop in service for individuals. Alex offered to take a look (for free!) to see if it was something easy we could fix. In a day he called to tell me what the problem was, and suggested to go under the warranty and it was an easy fix. No charge. A nice guy even carried it back out to car for me.
Other companies charge $75 just to look at it! And other companies would have only wanted to install a new part and charge for labor. A quick exchange of the defective part and we are back in business.
