As others have mentioned, East Providence has cameras all over to generate revenue in yet another mis managed city. Probably to pay back the almost $1,000,000 lawsuit they had to pay to a former city employee. I went to the town hall to appeal the ticket and was told by a rent a cop that you can't really contest it for reasons such as good driving record even though I hadn't had a ticket in almost 30 years. I asked if I could pay the ticket with debit and the rent a cop said no there is an ATM right there, $3 surcharge later and I learn from the condescending female clerk that you can't pay cash. Why else would they have to resort to income-generating automated school zone speed enforcement schemes? I have a problem when such schemes do not clearly post the speed limit or the fact that one is in a school zone. The posted speed limit (immediately adjacent to the school) is also higher than the speed used on citations.
Sham on the mayor to resorting to such state-sponsored income-generating schemes. Sham on the police for enforcing such corrupt and...
