I want to give these guys five stars, I really do. but I can't. the reason being is because though they promote a plethora of services they provide from grants and other forms of funds, the tangible service they actually do give is less than adequate on every level. the claim is that they have a large number of social programs which are profusely advertised in the community and surrounding areas to promote a reduction in things like poverty, homelessness, lapse of utility, et cetera and they seemingly have a network of people on staff that can coordinate the funds and programs with those who are in need of that kind of relief. really, the process is not transparent at all but rather obfuscated by hope and smiles. the harsh reality is of course that once you jump through hoop 1, hoop 2 will be readily available and a road map describing more hoops will often be provided. you will find that there is either an infinite number of hoops, or there was no value in jumping through them because everyone is denied that service regardless.

the real burn is that the central government does provide real funds which are liquid and allocated for a large number of recipients through consensus of demographic data. and though it correlates very well to the actual number of those in need, those funds get laundered into so many other arbitrary things (like salaries, petty cash, office supplies, paid vacations, work attire and transportation for staff, snacks, paid lunches, and possibly even take home pets. this leaves very little, if any, funds left over for the actual intended use and to the citizens for which they were catered for.

I have to say it's shameful to take from the poor to pay salaries of the ones who already have a better quality of life, but of course the hand that feeds must make routine feeding sessions on a set schedule for future feeds long before they pay out or use that food for the hungry and those without.

very unsure of all the services they do provide (not just the actual ones but also the fantastical ones being promoted all over the region), staff members also use a high degree of personal judgment as to who gets the golden pig, since there is often only one slot available after the allocation has been pillaged by staff.

at one point I was at the contending end of the deal. I had to battle with the advocate on applications, on sourcing, and on rewarding. in the end I received nothing except a referral to the same folks who referred me to WD. so very disheartened afterwards as I looked over the city budget and the state budget and how much funding had been allocated to those in need and proxied by organizations like WD....

Right now I am struggling with the after effects of a bad case of Covid. Specifically blood clots in my lungs. Western Dairyland has a program to help people affected by Covid pay their rent. They are helping me pay my rent on my new apartment and paying my deposit. In full. No catch. When I was homeless they gave me coupons to get free pizza slices at a downtown restaurant. They have given me Energy Assistance funds of hundreds of dollars to help me pay my Xcel energy bill. Western Dairyland is a God-Send of a non-profit organization. They offer great programs to low- and no-income people in need of assistance. They are extraordinarily helpful and friendly staff, and, if you are someone a little nervous about asking for help in the first place, they put your nerves at ease with their judgement free, calm demeanor and soothing environment.

They also offer a multitude of other programs, ranging from the focal point being children development, entrepreneurs, and the Women's Center, helping support Women specific entrepreneurs with everything and anything they may need to turn that idea to business, plus more...
