Read moreIt's a beautiful venue. I suppose I don't know what I was expecting. It is certainly a beautiful piece of artistic architecture; very remarkable.
However, I can only seem gather that it's simply a venue for performances. I suppose I was expecting more art displays rather than a collection of auditoriums and one of the most superfluous set of stairs I've seen in my life.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend taking a visit here, under the expectation there's much to see; it's a nice ten minute walk through and you've seen about everything. There is casual seating looking out upon the intersection of the Chippewa River and Eau Claire River, and what seemed to be a coffee and alcohol bar; no employees to be found.
In fact, I very much wanted to learn more about the building, but there simply wasn't a single authority there I could find. I wandered through all the offices and auditoriums. There is however, pamphlets scattered about the building, filled exclusively with the information I was, in fact, not looking for. These pamphlets started by thanking the contributers, and went on to list the upcoming performances.
To be frank, I'm disappointed. But only because I was expecting a lot more than simply a venue.
I'll reiterate, it is a remarkable, beautiful, $60...
Read moreThe online ticketing app didn't work for our tickets. We were in 3rd floor balcony, ready to go into the show and had to go back to the box office on the first floor to get paper tickets to enter. The seats everywhere are too low to the ground and uncomfortable. The entire place smelled like a cheap hotel. Everything was very clean and there were great views of the river outside and the cityscape. The show was just okay but what bothered me is that the sound was directed to the main level, and there were no speakers in the balcony area. This made the show seem muffled, and at stage level which affected the crowd participation. There should be more of a surround sound, immersive experience. We kind of felt like the black sheep of the family. It was also hot up there with little air circulation. It was made worse by the seats being so low to the ground, small, and uncomfortable. We were very cramped. Not to people with large bodies, it will be very uncomfortable. Another thing to include, is that tou also need to be tolerant of pronouns use. I just feel like for the money (millions) and hype this place gets, it's very underwhelming and...
