For the last few years, I have made a point of ordering all of my food to go, so I can avoid the terrible, rude and slow service. Until recently, that worked out well. The first issue was a few months ago when one of the items I ordered and payed for was left off the order. I called them up, and they were very helpful offering to give me the side dish free next time I ordered. Two weeks later, my burger had the wrong kind of cheese, and the pineapple was missing. This time when I called, I was told by the man working "Well what am I supposed to do about it" and was eventually advised to come the next day during the day to talk to someone who can help me. The next day I spoke to a gentleman who apologized for how I was treated and informed me that in situations like that, the employees are supposed to call him to get permission to do what they need to to make it right. He offered me a gift certificate, which I accepted. Honestly the fact that he listened instead of arguing meant more than the gift certificate. This was several months ago. I have still not received the gift certificate. I have ordered several more times without too much incident. Today we called to place an order, and also ask if the gift certificate was ever sent, since we have not received it. Bill said he had to check the records, then hung up on my girlfriend. I called back and said "I think someone just hung up on my girlfriend" If the answer had been a simple apology for the misunderstanding, I would not be upset. Instead, Bill proceded to yell at me about how he did not hang up on her. I said I did not call to argue and simply wanted to place an order, and inquire about my gift certificate. Bill continued to argue about whether or not he hung up on my girlfriend. At this point, I asked when would be a better timne to call and speak to a vmanager or owner. Bill did not answer and continued to yell. I hung up. After taking a minute to calm down, I called back, hoping to get someone else to ask when I could speak to a manager. Bill answered again. This time, he proceeded to tell me that the two times the kitchen made mistakes on my order were my fault for trusting them to prepare the food I ordered instead of something else, and that's why for the last 20 years, he always checks his take out orders before leaving a restaurant. I informed him that ever since the incident I do check my order. He continued to yell at me about how I should have been doing that in the first place. At this point, I lost my temper and I did call him a dick. I then asked when I can speak to an owner again. Bill's response was "You can talk to both the owners, it won't make a difference. We all know you're a dick" At this point I hung up. I don't even want the gift certificate anymore. If this is an acceptable way to treat a customer, I will take my business elsewhere. It's really a shame, because I do like the food, but it's not worth being treated like...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Let's start with the service. Upon arrival we were seated immediately so that's a positive. Coffee was your typical cup of coffee and the breakfast menu had plenty of options at a more than fair price so I'm feeling opportunistic at this point. I decided to order the Italian breakfast wrap which comes with hashbrowns, and in addition I asked to have onions added to them. The two people I was with ordered hashbrowns with their breakfast as well. So we receive our meals and I notice several things.
Raw onions thrown on top of my sad looking hashbrowns. My hashbrowns are not only sad looking, but they are undercooked and as dry as my empty cup of coffee. I shared my misery with my friends as their orders looked equally disappointing.
Over cooked eggs and undercooked hashbrowns seemed to be the theme for this disasterous morning. Now I have never seen or heard of anyone enjoying raw onions with their undercooked hashbrowns but I figured I better mention it to the waitress in case there was a communication error. No worries...they made a second attempt at cooking the hashbrowns with sauteed onions. What highlighted this visit was the second attempt at cooking the hashbrowns and onions. The manager returned with my newly cooked food assuring me that these were "much much better." Astonishingly enough, I was hand delivered another plate of dry hashbrowns accompanied by raw onions. Thankfully my meal along with one of my friend's was removed from the bill but I would have rather paid for...
Read moreThe food and prices at Galloway Grill are amazing, but the atmosphere and staff consistently under deliver. I hadn't gone there for a few years before this past weekend but it was the same old story with staff, new faces. We walk in and go right to the hostess stand are waiting to be seated. This young girl looks at us and then goes into a booth to sit down. A waitress says "people are waiting to be seated" and she jumps up--oops! She takes us to a place outside and the waitress comes decently quick. We get our beer and ask for them to replace the breakfast menu they gave us--it is early afternoon, after all. A while later we get new menus. Then we wait and wait and wait. Eventually, we go inside to place appetizer order. It comes out eventually and then we are waiting and waiting again. No follow-up; no anything. So, we're getting set to go and ready to just go inside and track down a way to pay them (strange, I know). The waitress comes back out so we make sure she takes bill to pay right away. We wait and wait again. Meantime, other people outside who were also ignored go in and pay so they can go, commenting on how all staff just disappeared. Honestly, consistently bad staff at a restaurant like this just shocks me. I am sure there are some staff that are good, but we are yet to find them. I believe it's safe to conclude this will be my last visit to Galloway Grille. They've had at least 4 opportunities to show I had a fluke incident. All that has happened was it's bee proven I had a...
