I used to be a frequent shopper at this store. After my most recent experience, I will never return. I saw a sign near the scrapbook stickers saying they were 60% off (for certain brands). I carefully selected stickers from those certain brands and found a coupon for 40% off a full price item, so I grabbed a new scrapbook to apply that coupon towards. The store is laid out very oddly and it is difficult to find things, even after shopping there several times. There are no employees to be found around the store to help.
After spending a half hour shopping, I waited in a ridiculously long line. The cashiers were slow and appeared bored, and it took at least ten minutes to get to a cashier. When I go to the cashier, I told her about the 40% off coupon I had and she had me pull it up on my phone. I then told her that I saw the sign (which was visible from the cash register) that certain sticker brands were 60% off. She said, "No, that coupon doesn't apply toward this brand." I was flabbergasted, stating this brand name was clearly listed under the 60% off sign. She laughed in my face and sternly said, "I know what the deal is for. It's not for these stickers."
I walked out of the store without purchasing anything. This is why companies like Amazon are soaring, consumers are sick and tired of dealing with rude sales associates at stores and would rather stay home to shop. I will be shopping at Hobby Lobby and other arts and craft stores from now on!
This location needs a serious customer service training overhaul - for ALL...
Read moreOn May at roughly around 6pm, I’d just finished my shopping at Michael's. A blonde woman who I assumed to be a manager stood by as a wonderful Cashier named Bex handled all the costumers who couldn’t use the self check out (none of self check outs allowed cash). The blonde woman stood idly by as a line formed. Bex was absolutely amazing and kind in how they interacted with costumers. I felt feeling great. However that wonderful feeling was crushed as I went back to my car. I hear commotion behind me. As the blonde I assume to be manager was shouting at the costumer who previously was behind me in line. the blonde employee was apparently demanding this woman to empty out all her pockets. Accusing her of stealing, and wouldn’t let her leave until all of her personal items where place on the ground of the parking lot before her. This made me sick as a person. Regardless I don’t know if the woman attempted to steal or not. Treating another human being with such indignity is disgusting. Humiliating a woman in such a way in a public space is horrific. I began to wonder if this blonde employee treated others this way, methods of embarrassment. Does she treat her fellow Michael's employees this way? Other costumers? I wish I had gotten her name. She worked on a shift with an employee named Bex, who was handling all the costumers. I want to reiterate Bex was an amazing employee, I have no connections to the other costumer, and that I find the blonde (likely a manager) employee’s...
Read moreWent to this store for the first time in months. I wasn't looking for anything in particular. I ended up buying a unfinished wood birdhouse and paints, brushes and small decor to finish it off. When I went to check out, I noticed that they had changed most of their registers to self checkout and they were all busy. There was only one original check out lane that was staffed by one person (perhaps a Manager?). I noticed other people having issues with the new self checkout registers. The staff member came to me and told me that there were self checkouts to use and it appeared that she didn't want to help me. I asked her if she would check me out at her lane. I was given an attitude as if I was bothering her. She checked me out with a scowl on her face, like I was putting her out. She bagged some of my things, but when I asked her if I could have a bag for the birdhouse that I purchased I again got a scowl. She was a very unpleasant person with a major attitude. I realize that a lot of stores use self checkout, but they still have lanes that are staffed. It appeared that she thought that we should all take care of ourselves so that she wouldn't have to do her job. Consumers are asked to do more and more for themselves, but do we save any money or are companies just pocketing more profits with not having to staff as many people and making their customers do more. Bottom line, I am now only going to Hobby Lobby. Michaels has lost me as a customer and I have been shopping there...
