Absolutely diabolical service. I went to this store to get some skincare products as I have been struggling with acne and skin damage as of late. Naturally these issues arenât exactly pleasant, so I really wanted a quick and painless experience going to get my stuff then leaving. I thought I could also look at some makeup products as a little treat for myself, hence why I went to Ulta instead of another store that sells skincare. When I grabbed my items and went to the front counter, the employees were distracted and did not seem ready to help people pay at all. When someone finally arrived to ring up my items, I was put through an extended and frankly humiliating ordeal. My items were scanned, then the employee asked if I had a membership. I said no. He asked if I wanted to set up a membership. I said no. He asked if I was sure. I said yes. At this point I have my card out and am fully ready to pay, I am just being held up by this issue (that really shouldnât be an issue at all!). I want to clarify that I have shopped at this Ulta before and the experience of checking out was nowhere near this arduous. It was a three-question process at most. This conversation, however, continued for at least 5 back-and-forth exchanges where I had to continue putting my foot down about this membership. As I mentioned before I really wanted to get in and get out, and the employee pressuring me just made the experience worse and more embarrassing. This employee then tells me that he doesnât even know how to ring up items for someone without a membership. I was shocked at this because it came across as very unprofessional and inexperienced. When he finally figured out the payment system (which he had to ask another employee for help with!), I was so dissatisfied with this service that I just told him to forget it, put my items back, and left the store with nothing. I understand that memberships may be an important part of this companyâs structure or business model, but these people have no right to be so pushy when delivering such subpar service.    Read moreIf I could give this zero stars I would. And Iâm really not someone to write reviews but this was bad.. The store was relatively empty when I entered about 20 minutes before they closed. My friend and I were not greeted. And we werenât asked if we needed help with anything until we had already been there for 15 minutes. The first interaction I had in the store as I was browsing the aisle, was by an older plus-sized woman. She stopped to tell me that they would be âclosing in a few minutesâ. It sounded weird to me because I had specifically picked this store because it was close by and would give me ample time to shop. I checked my phone and realized I still had about 17 minutes before the store would be closing. I ended up walking in circles as the store sat empty unable to get the help to find what I needed until an employee asked me about 4 minutes before close if I needed help. Not only was my shopping experience unpleasant and unfriendly; but I also overheard an interaction another Black shopper was having where the employee (the same employee Iâd first interacted with) told her that they were closed and that the product she was looking for âwas all the way in the back of the storeâ. The employee then continued on to insinuate that it was out of this personâs price range. Overall, as a Black woman I felt very unwelcome in the store. A few months ago a hairstylist that was clearly very inexperienced and not confident gave my four year-old son the absolute worst haircut that took literally two hours long and I STILL had to inconveniently come in the next morning for a DIFFERENT stylist to fix up the mistakes. Mind you I had other commitments at that time. This was absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous. Why take on someone as a client if youâre not confident in your own work? Could have just rescheduled me for another day with someone more experienced and save me a lot of time. Secondly, I called today in an attempt to cancel an online order I had made and I was put on a brief hold and after the hold a very cranky and out of breath woman came to the phone, basically telling me I was wasting her time and that sheâs the only cashier at the moment blah blah blah. Thatâs not my problem. She also claimed that canceling my order can be done through the app, but gave zero context on how to do that. Just a âstop wasting my time and figure it out yourselfâ attitude that I donât appreciate. Just done coming here. It used to be great here but the service has just progressively gotten worse.
