This is an honest review of my experience so far here at riello. I feel I need to voice my opinion about this building.
I have never written a review on any company or service before.
Iām also keeping myself anonymous, donāt want them to mess with my deposit.
I moved in riello late last year. I was excited, as anyone who is moving into a luxury building with amenities is Gym, pool, sauna, doorman, etc.
Our unit is spacious and bigger than most apartments in the metro area. Price was also good when we moved in. Having granite, jacuzzi tub, stainless steel amenities is nice also good views from the Hudson side. Some units have balconies, some are duplexes, most of them are laid out well. This is why Iām giving it a 3 star. The people who live in the building honestly get a 10/10 best thing this building has is the people living in it. Great crowd.
Moved in and didnāt understand if we were supposed to buy our own blinds. After a month and a half of talking to the front desk/looking for our own. With no notice we finnaly get a knock on the door with two random guys who donāt work for the building saying here are your blinds. Wish we could choose color they are off beige and kinda ugly. Donāt match walls. I had already spent money on new ones - thanks for the heads up and no answers from anyone.
Then our freezer breaks melts and leaks on the entire kitchen in the middle of the night. Call maintenance. He takes a blow dryer and blows out the inside and restarts the freezer. Lost a couple houndred bucks. Month later, same thing lose a couple hundred bucks and freezer leaks on the floor. blow drys it again. Bam 3rd time now beginning of the summer. We say screw it. We go a month maybe without a working freezer. It took them about 5-6 months for them to just give us a darn new whole fridge.
Memorial Day pool opens up. In the middle of the day with a packed pool the pump breaks at 1:00 no one can use the pool for the rest of the day. Like what?? Everyone thought the pool opened up late anyway. Donāt you think you should run the pool a week or two before to make sure the darn thing works. Opening day goes right to the gutter. We petition to keep pool open later in season, permission is granted. Then it āsome how,ā breaks the last few weeks and turns green. Really?
Some people complain about the noise level at the pool from close units. Thatās understandable. However management decided to shorten the pool hours by 15 minutes. It closes at 8:45 in the summer, Even on weekends??? Thatās so early. Keep the pool open at night for adults. This also means the fire pit, couches, and grills canāt be used?? Why do we even pay full for amenities. When half of them canāt be used.
Not to mention nothing by the pool or pool kitchen is clean. The kitchen area fridge had old food from weeks ago in the fridge. They should probably tell maintenance to clean the grill area and kitchen every night, or at least once a week. Must be under staffed.
Just a brief mention - our toilet flooded 2-3 times it backed up into the tub causing the the tub to flood. How is that even possible?? My only explanation is someone above us flushed something weird down the toilet multiple times. Maintenance came 3-4 times, through our first half year to fix it.
We park on T1 lowest floor in garage. The back Garage door, has broken about 5 times throughout the year. So it forces us to loop around four floors in the garage. That is annoying.
Now theyāre doing maintenance on all the floors in the garage. They hired a valet company to park our cars. What a darn disaster. The company name doing it LAZ parking. Literally must stand for LAY-Z. You have to call in the morning about 15-20 minutes early to make sure your car is available. Then you go down there and still have to wait about 5-7 minutes. Only thing nice is dropping it off at night. This is going on for 6 weeks. Weāre in week 2.5 I think.

I decided to leave and end up not seeing anything. Be aware they want to scan your ID because of your security they claim ( mm makes me wonder what kind of people has this building dealt with before ) I donāt mind if they would be clear about the reason but my husbands ID cannot be scan for security purposes due to his job and he didnāt have another Iād on him the lady clearly can understand why his Iād couldnāt be scan and keep saying well we canāt is for your security and a lot of scams going around we need to scan it .Then the lady leave with my id to ask her manager for a solution,takes forever and Iām starting to feel worry they might make a copy of my Iād so I ask the front desk guy to let her know we leaving and do not wish to continue she comes out and I ask, did you scan my ID without a sign consent or something? She goes oo noo I donāt think it went through I was so confuse! Then She makes pretend she goes to take a look at the machine and comes back saying it didnāt went trough because itās nothing there š ( idk why she scan my Iād , idk if this is dangerous? Not type of information at all) this was soo horrible the whole experience overall was so unprofessional. I am still worry if my Iād was copy. Additionally, they are always friendly and respectful, which adds a comforting and community-oriented feel to the building.
Timmy and Chris from the maintenance are absolutely amazing !!! Also, the dedication of the the entire staff really that works here whether it be the maintenance the management the concierge, and the cleaning staff helps in keeping the property in excellent condition and this is evident throughout the common areas, hallways, and amenities.
