I needed to have my antique engagement ring resized and one of the prongs fixed. This was the only jewelry store in the Vail valley that I could find that did not source out their repair work (which can take 10-14 days), and they originally told me on the phone that if I were to bring my ring in that day, they would have it ready in 3 days, 4 days at the latest.
I brought my ring in, along with a couple of watches that needed some work. After helping other customers, Dennis completed the work on my watches right then (he was the only one working) for a reasonable price. I left my ring with him for the resizing and prong repair.
On the 4th day (a Saturday), I left a message about my ring. The following Tuesday (they're closed Sundays and Mondays during summer), I received a voicemail saying they were behind and it would be done Wed or Thursday at the latest. When I didn't hear from them by Friday, I called and left a message. No response. When I called Saturday, Dennis told me he had left a voicemail (he hadn't - or at least, I never received it). When I explained that we were moving an hour away and I needed my ring that day otherwise it would be a 2-hour drive for me to pick up the ring the next week, he said he didn't have it with him and that it was at his shop 40 minutes away. I would not be able to pick it up that day. This was 7-8 days after I had been told the work would be done.
Dennis did reach me the next day (Sunday) and arranged for me to meet him to pick up my ring on my way through town to Denver. While his location at a restaurant at Beaver Creek would be 30 minutes out of my way, I decided it would be better than making the extra 2-hour trip the next week. I waited outside the restaurant at the arranged time for 20 minutes, calling and texting the entire time. He never picked up his phone, texted back, OR came out to meet me with my ring!! I left empty handed.
I received a text the next day (Monday) when I was returning from Denver that he could meet me to give me my ring that evening. This time he did, at the scheduled time and place. He did not ONCE apologize for not meeting me the previous day. He did not charge me for my ring, but by that point, I had planned to refuse to pay for it.
Upon inspection of my ring, the prong that was to be fixed was made 10x worse. It sticks up above all the other prongs on the ring and catches on EVERYTHING. I will have to pay another jeweler to have it repaired.
I would never recommend going to this jeweler for ring repairs....unless you enjoy waiting an extra week for your work to be completed, going out of your way to be stood up, and/or receiving...
Read moreAbsolutely some of the rudest people I have every met in the industry, bar none. I called in to see if they could resize my ring before I made the trip. After the lady working there said that they do I asked a few follow up questions. She was extremely short over the phone and borderline outright rude. Dismissing that as nothing more than poor phone etiquette I drove down to drop the ring off. When I walked in, I greeted the two employees. The lady who I spoke with on the phone did not respond to my greeting and did not even look up. She was organizing some jewelry on the counter. I walked up and attempted to ask if they resize rings in-house. She abruptly cut me off mid sentence to ask if I needed it done by christmas. I informed her I did not need it by christmas but as soon as convenient would be great. Before I even finished she cut me off again and said that they couldn't do it. Obviously this company does not care for the customer. I would not recommend this jeweler to anyone, nor would I trust them. I read some additional reviews on this store and I'm glad I didn't support them with my business. A Glenwood Springs jeweler was able to help me out and was...
Read moreStill have not received my watch back after repair of 8 weeks, was told 2-4 weeks, thought was a simple fix but guess not. Cracked Bezel 1st day of my Luminox, black ops watch, looks cheap but it’s very versatile, he asked me at first why I would have a $50 bezel replaced, I laughed cause anyone that knows watches that a brand new Luminox is over $300i think I paid $395 for it, should have sent it in for warranty but thought it would be quicker to send to my local dealer in which I know a lot of friends that look for local jewelry. Still waiting on return of my watch and I’m guessing he he not gonna charge me the 40-60 range fix. Oh but my favorite was when I gave him 4 weeks I called him and asked him if it were ready? His reply was “ no it’s not done yet, do u just want me to send it back to you”? I am still waiting on my watch,...
