Oh where do I even begin. It's been months since I left there and I am still livid. I accidentally found out that underhanded deals were given by some of the staff. I have proof. Mind you that the transgressions occurred before Jimmy and Nasim took over. When I reported it, I made it clear that I wanted my identity to be anonymous. They didn't!
Fast forward. One of the members who got the underhanded deal came to the camp and her behavior towards me was making me feel uncomfortable. I had a talk with Nasim. She said she couldn't do anything about it. She defended her a few times by stating that anyone would have taken that deal, which I found to be aggravating. If she couldn't do anything to help me, at the very minimum, she should have stayed neutral! I think it's just common business sense. The last thing I want to hear is one of the owners defending her after I was placed in an impossible situation and had no protection from the previous owners.
In part of that conversation she told me to let go of controlling things we cannot control. I can't begin to tell you the irony of it. A couple days later for my checkin I wrote that there were a lot of insects and it was annoying, because of bug bites. And I suggested that people bring insect repellent. This was not a complaint, but advice to my fellow members. Within an hour of my checkin, a trainer commented on my post stating that I needed to man up. Very unprofessional!! Then Jimmy called me about my comment. Finally Nasim asked me to remove it. They said they can't control clients, but that is exactly what they were doing to me. I wish I had not deleted my comments. From my perspective, they only get involved if it hurts their business. They shouldn't have it both ways.
What angers me more than the the underhanded deal is the owners not having my back. From the beginning of the screw up, I got the raw end.. I use to love the camp and they could have had a life long member out of me, but everyone screwed up. Their loss!!! Accountability means nothing to them unless it has to do with losing weight.
If I could give them zero stars, I would.
Jimmy and Nasim need to do better!
Edited to add. I find the owners response ridiculous! Once again, they don't know what it means to be professional and they are proving my point. Also, I don't think they know the definition of harassment, bullying, unethical practices, fairness. Obviously they can't handle criticism. Good job at...
Read moreI was told that there would be no issues pausing the challenge if my medical condition needed it. Sal processed everything for me and guaranteed it, saying they allow this for others as well giving examples of women who found out they were pregnant and could no longer participate. Apparently they would just pause and restart after pregnancy.
I was on a medication that made my heart beat way faster than it should. When I tried the camp, I got through the first 2 weeks, no problem! Then my meds started kicking my heart into overdrive and my doctor asked me to pause my sessions at the camp.
When he gave me the okay to come back, no one had any records of me going on medical leave. Every couple of months someone will call or email about a new 6 week challenge and I’d try asking for a status update but everyone usually says they’ll check and get back to me but no one ever does.
The camp stole my money, hopefully they don’t do the same to...
Read moreI started The Camp El Monte with one goal in mind: to get skinny. But what I got was so much more than that. Instead of just losing weight, I've lost body fat, gained muscle, and gained confidence. The workouts are challenging but fun. The trainers are always there to push you in the best way possible. They meet you where you're at and help you grow stronger - physically and mentally. The first week was the most difficult, but as long as you stick to the plan, it will become easier because you get stronger. What surprised me the most was how this place would shift my mindset. It's not just about the body - it's about becoming the best version of yourself. The energy, support, and community are unmatched. If you're looking for real change - not just a quick fix - this is the place. The Camp El Monte has truly changed my life, and for that, I will be forever...
