I had a beautiful day with my family and decided to finally return items i purchased for my remodeling my home...
Some items my worker purchased other items i personally purchased cash and with a gift card ..
I need also need to mention i have a Homedepo card and have spent over $8,0000.00 worth of supplies.
I made it clear to the cashier i did not have any receipts.
I visited store # 6673 El Monte all items were scanned total $1,000.00. The cashier asked for my License and i gave it to her.
Then the cashier Had a look of concerned and said she had to clear the amount with the manager.
I the looked at the screen and noticed my name was lit up in red.
I ask kesher why is my name on read she said all she needed was Clarence from the manager Manny i said okay.
The manager Manny was rude and said it could not return the items because I have returned to many items without a receipt that is why my name is flagged red.
I explained to him yes I have returned items without a receipt but those are items from home depot what is the problem I am doing a remodel.
This manager was rude and disrespectful just kept repeating himself like a robot you do not have a receipt your name is read flagged and I am not returning these items.
I asked him to explain how could he not return items that are home depot products he refused to answer the question I kept repeating himself like a robot I am not returning these items you do not have a receipt your name is read flagged.
I was embarrassed humiliated disgusted and offended he treated me as if I was a thief.
I have spent so much money in home depot over $10,000 then some to be treated in this matter was disgusting.
I did not know when I returned item a Box of nails or light switches without receipts that I was being profiled.
Hall these items are home depot products and I purchased them with my hard working money and have the right to return them their own products. They took my money without a problem now I need to return what cannot use and I am treated like a criminal.
This was the worst manager of any home people I have ever experienced the evening manager in the Elmonte home depot store.
I asked for the phone number of the corporate office unfortunately there close today until Monday.
This is not right to treat loyal customers a card holder for many years in this manner.
How dare home depot's managers disrespect the customers loyal customers.
I need someone to fix this remove my name from the red flag this is profiling and not right without the knowledge of the other person not knowing they will be profiled.
This home depot is the worst Homedepo I've ever ever ever experienced.
I need someone from corporate to make this right.
I need my name to removed as a red flag pop up in Homedepot computers.
I need these items to be returned they are home depot products.
I do not recommend this store .
I am not a criminal And how dare home depot Manger Manny store # 6673 treat me as a criminal.
Monday morning I will file a complaint to the corporate office And I hope to make things right. Shame on home...
Read moreUPDATE: After emailing the DM & CC the online help line in addition to this review last night, I received correspondence this morning. And by noon, I was given a new gift card via email. Although I am happy the issue was resolved, it should not have take so much effort on my part to correct an error the company created. The same effort put into making sure the POS system wouldn't accept the gift card as payment should've been taken to make sure the gift card couldn't be sold in the first place. And if the company gave the employee the authorization to give $25 off my purchase, they should've allowed him to simply refund me or issue me a new gift card upon surrendering the "bad" gift card. To me this says Home Depot has no problem protecting themselves but does not put the same effort into protecting their customers.
This review is not against the staff I personally delt with but rather an issue with what I feel is almost a fraudulent transaction. A few days ago my wife purchased me gift card from this location. When I tried using it today at the same location, I was basically told they were supposed to have stopped selling this particular gift card about a year ago. The representative explained my 2 options were either take a $25 discount off my next purchase or wait DAYS for a new card pin. I explained that my purchases are usually small & in all honesty, if I can't trust Home Depot to sell us usable gift cards, I really don't trust a discount based simply on someone's word. I left the store with my issue unresolved & used their online live chat in hopes to resolve the issue. Unfortunately the representative wasn't able to help me either but did give me the number to the company that issues the gift cards. They also stated that the in store staff should've been able to resolve the issue in store by calling their support line & gave me the district managers email suggesting I contact them. We are waiting for a response. Home Depot & the gift card company are both on eastern time, so we're hoping to have time to call them while at work. We're also contacting our credit card company to see if this can be investigated as fraud & simply have the transaction charged back. So buyer beware. This was not a "fake" gift card. The money is apparently on the gift card. By their own admission, they sold me a gift card that should have never been sold & now has $25 of ours...
Read moreAVOID THIS HOME DEPOT AT ALL COST!!! I have had the most terrible shopping experience here in my life. I had just bought some material at self checkout and two employees helped me checkout. They always look at people like they’re going to steal something at this place. I got distracted because I couldn’t find a card of mine and ended up leaving the receipt accidentally. Then when I walked out some guy came up to me asking me for a receipt. He wasn’t dressed professionally or even clean. He was also smoking a cigarette at the time. He didn’t say please or anything I honestly thought he was just some crazy dude that was there. So I ignored him and kept walking. Then he gets in front me and my girlfriend. He kept asking me for a receipt and I told him he can go inside and get it if he wants. Again I didn’t know if he worked there or not and he started getting more confrontational and I started to worry if I would have to defend myself which i almost did. He cornered me and my girlfriend against the bbq grills outside. Luckily the cashier came running outside and told them we paid for everything. I got really upset because i almost started to defend myself over some receipt and I almost ended up in jail because of this. I always try to avoid going to this Home Depot. I only go here when I really have to because I live down the street. I told the assistant manager there what had happened and he just happened to be outside with another manager and saw the whole thing. The assistant manager said sorry and that he’ll have a talk with him ( the guy works there). I went back last week and this guy is still there and of course smoking on the job and still doesn’t have an apron on or anything. This place is ridiculous. There are other Home Depot’s that are so much better. I go out of my way to go to the Alhambra one it’s a lot cleaner and the employees there treat the customers so...
