老重庆火锅(OLD CHONGQING HOT POT) — Restaurant in El Monte

I visited on 23/09/24 and was disappointed. The food was not fresh, and some pork had dark spots. No server checked on us, and we had to serve ourselves. We were charged for a sauce we didn’t take, and the server insisted we pay without mentioning it beforehand. He keep mentioning that all restaurants in LA will do this to their customers too! This was frustrating. Me and my boyfriend decided not to leave any tips since we had a very bad experience over there. The server was chasing after us and keep arguing with us whether we here for vacation. We did mentioned we didn’t experienced this before in other restaurants and he keep asking us the name of the restaurant. It doesn’t matter whether we are from other state or from local. We are server and this is the FIRST time we refuse to pay any tips! They don’t deserve!!!!! Strongly not...

Came in Friday 7-8pm, no other customers, which seems to be a red flag. The food served are still frozen and the beef had weird smell. We were asked to use the seasoning bar.
