Yesterday August 19, 2025, I walked into Dillards to fulfill an Instacart order in the men’s section. I went to the men’s shoe section and asked if they had the exact shoe I was looking for. The female employee told me no and dismissed me, only for me to find it sitting on the display table next to her. I asked her to please hold it for me because I needed to find two belts and then check out. I walked over towards the belt section where a male employee who was helping another customer told his female coworker to follow and watch me. I ignored it and she followed me closely behind, constantly asking me questions. I found what I needed, she kept trying to hold onto the belts and check me out, but I reiterated that I had a lady holding shoes for me at the counter. She followed me all the way over there and the male employee watched. I checked out and left.
Now, I regularly shop at this store and never had any issues until this day. 1. Even if I wanted to steal(never have and never will) there is a cop hanging out at the front store, so why am I being followed? 2. I know I was followed and treated that way because I was dressed comfortably and I am a Black female. I am 7 months pregnant, so yes I dress however I want, but that does not mean I have no money or business in that store. I am a disabled veteran, retired from the U.S. Army, so just because I may look young or “ghetto”does not mean I am. My skin color should not even be put into question if I’m sketchy or not. That is not how you properly assess a situation/person. Moral of the story: never judge a book by its cover. You do not know me or what is in my bank account, but respect should always come first. Won’t be shopping here ever...
Read moreThe customer service at children’s shoes is as bad as it gets. I would never have a person like Myrna working for me. She was on her phone at the counter with iPods on. She was very distracted by whatever she was watching and when my husband walked over and asked for help she looked so bothered. We asked her to measure our sons foot so we could get the correct size but instead I had to get the device myself on the other side of department myself. This lady didn’t want to move. She stood over me as I measured my sons foot and gave orders on how to when I already knew how to. (I have 3 kids.) She was rude had no patience and even puffed as we were finished looking and ready to purchase. I walked over to the counter to make my purchase and she still had her phone going. Never again. We will get our shoes from Rack Room Shoes or at the outlet mall next time at one of the other shoe stores where the customer service is great!
I will say Jay upstairs in Womens shoes was...
Read moreI come to this dillard’s often enough to notice that the service of the employees has become overwhelmingly pushy in an attempt to get their commissions. My friend and I were enjoying our time, shopping at our pace and we had three different employees demandingly asking to assist us. One employee YELLED at us as we were walking past her, literally stopping us just so we could let her know if we were ready for a fitting room or to cash out, and another employee told my friend that she “couldn’t” go back upstairs to pay out for a shirt she thought we were buying (upstairs was where we got the top to begin with??) and that it had to be with her because she assisted us with the fitting rooms. we were only going back upstairs to look for another color of the top. We denied every employee and they were visibly upset/made short remarks that we didn’t purchase anything in the end. Why would we? It was a rude and unenjoyable experience and I won’t...
