I'm only rating bc of a show I specifically went to buy an indoor antenna so we could watch it without having to get a premium subscription. Please note I'm only 70, so despite only having 60 more to go, I'm still a kid at heart, but also grew up when common sense was worth its weight in gold... & even more. Mind you, it still is... just severely lacking. So I saw this ad, commercial, whatever you call it, for this "special 78 minute extended version of Rudolph the Red-nosed reindeer." My beloved wife & I are thinking "the original was 52 mins, + 8 mins commercials for the 1 hr time slot. Where in the world did they find 26 more mins?" Realizing no legacy media corp is just going to go w 12 mins of commercials (to make an even 90), I guessed they must be going to add a lot more commercials to make it maybe 1¾hr special total? Wrong. The only thing extended was commercials... 26 more minutes of them! Extremely disappointed. And in my book, very deceiving. That said, I understand this is just an affiliate, ergo guilt by affiliation. I was going to go w 3 stars. However, their little ½ hr special BEFORE the show was most excellent, & the variety of topics, people interviewed, etc, was most enjoyable. Ergo 4 stars. NBC should've just left the annual 1 hour Christmas specials as is, instead of advertising as an extended version. We realized something was off when in a span of less than 20 mins we were already seeing a 4th commercial break! I wonder if NBC set a Guinness record? Enquirer Minds want to know! 🤔 Well, at least we can watch local TV, for now. It was bad enough when they got rid of analog... God forbid people should be able to watch TV without digital fakeness (my term). If we all watched analog, they wouldn't be able to make you see their make-believe, Sorry for rambling on. I'm sure the local affiliate is great. And again, my rating is based on only 1 show, more negative towards NBC, more positive towards the local. That's all from an old Jarhead blessed w ADHD. 🙃 May you all have a very wonderful & Merry Christmas & Happy New...
Read moreMy favorite anchors are Karla and Ian in the mornings. They are great together and while they give me all the news and weather, it’s with some fun and laughter. So much better than all the other news shows, which can be pretty boring. However, I obviously missed something because I keep hearing Ian’s “gone.” What does that mean! I certainly hope he wasn’t moved to nights, and worse, that he left KTSM.I only gave 4 stars because I don’t know...
